Briggs was a light heavyweight.
So?? he still got TKOed,
Kariz was also a LHW
Briggs had a K.O. record of 18 in 26 wins including stoppages against tough opponents such as Tasis Petridis, Glen Kelly and Adrian Bellan as well as dropping Gurkan Ozkan and Thomaz Adamek.

I think Briggs is a poor example to use when you are trying to demonstrate a "chinny" fighter, the pounch that Briggs stopped Kariuki with would have stopped a rampaging bull.

I think your missing the point, or you get what we're saying and just don't agree...that's ok, but on monday night you had to see Kariz get wobbled at least 3 times with your own eyes right? Regardless of who he got knocked out by he still got knocked out..and the last time i looked you don't get a reprieve for being knocked out by Paul Briggs and the likes. A chin is a chin and if it's already been cracked 4 times it's not as though it gets better right?

I'm not saying the man can't fight, I just don't think he's even top 3 Australia, let alone world class.

Clenshaw is not really considered a power puncher, more of a blood and guts fighter and he managed to find the spot quite a few times.

Honestly you could make an argument that Josh won that fight.

Yea ur right, Briggs is a poor example to define someone who is "chinny", i just wanted to mention his win over Kariz, Clenshaw was the one i was actually meaning about, IF u saw the fight then u would know that anyone with eyes wouldve noticed how weak Karizs chin is, and yet Clenshaw aint even known for power shots or being a power fighter, we can trade all day man, but its NOT gonna change the fact that Karizs chin is weak, its soft, but i do believe that he has a GREAT chance to win the Contender series, the only way he loses to someone like Wood is by K.O or stoppagge

He is doing well as a super middleweight. Light heavyweight was obviously a division too far. Most fighters look wobbly when Clenshaw hits them. He is no mug and packs a whallop. The difference was Kariuki did not go down.

the difference is, Clenshaw is not a big hitter, and yet Kariz was wobbeled a couple of times from him, kariz is NOT a fighter with a good Chin, NO doubt

I would have given it to oganov, victor must have hit him so hard that he thought he was in a rugby match.

I think oganov is the stronger contender, their power looked about the same, oganov has a stronger chin and a good guard, he doesn't need to hold and tackle to survive, garth is faster that is about it.

I think oganov would have a better chance againts kariz and mundine.

Kariuki knocked Angelo out when they fought. Oganov did not.

Kariuki has won his last six fights. Current form is good form.

Yeah but Oganov, had Sonni gone with seconds to go in a 5 round fight, and it took Kariz 9 rounds.

How much will be shown on The Contender on Fox 8? Just the Final or will the Junior fight be shown also seeing as it is a "Contender", or at least contender inspired, fight?

I think Junior & Nader will be shown - tagged Contender series grudge match.
It would been Oganov vs. Clenshaw, being losers in semis, but Oganov got the shites & told them to get stuffed.

Kariuki & Clenshaw had to wait for an hour or so, while the crew repaired damage caused by Oganov.

Good to hear about the Junior fight.

Who did more damage Oganov or Hamdan? I wouldn't have argue if both of them got some kind of fine or suspension after their carry one, more so Hamdan but Oganov as well...

I think Nader's & his followers carry on was scripted. Oganov caused damage to dressing room walls & what have you.

A couple of questions for all you fans of this series (I have been watching up until semi final stage but am now out of Australia). How are the cuts to the eyebrows of Garth Wood?, will they affect the final? The last fight I saw was his quarter final and they were an issue there. Also what happens if the fight is a draw after 7 rounds? 7 rounds seems a strange number to me, I thought the US contender finals were over 8 rounds.

Any replies would be most appreciated.
