Im not running around saying I was ducked by him my only point is he was mouthing all over the papers saying he was gonna knock me out in a couple of rounds, which im not complaining about becuase it built the fight up quite big locally. At the time I was active and available for the fight and it didnt happen for whatever reason. And you are right what you said earlier in the topic Dave I went looking for the fight because it was the biggest fight available to me which surely noone can complain about? The fight would have boosted my profile abit. Also in your comments you are right I would not have 'fought for free' but I would have fought for normal small hall show money.
Either way you did take the step up and fight hickman which is a good win and obviously a more meaningful win on paper than my name would have been as hickman as fought at a higher level so well done, And I wish him well with his next fight against morris.

Nothing youve said can be seen as mouthing off or anything as you was just replying to comments from woodhouse , and correct you didnt say that woodhouse ducked you , that was me that thinks that .chiv54 wrote:Im not running around saying I was ducked by him my only point is he was mouthing all over the papers saying he was gonna knock me out in a couple of rounds, which im not complaining about becuase it built the fight up quite big locally. but your right woodhouse stepping up to hickman , having just lost too , was a good sign from woodhouse and will of course be his high point so far , im sure hell win his next fight too .
I hope we get to see you in the ring again one day , i was talking to eddie o'rourkes dad not too long ago , just about boxing in general , and he said hed like to see you show what he believes youve got ,but sometimes , as is with you , circumstances dont really allow for it .
best of luck to both chiverton and woodhouse in their futures .

What happened in the fight with Santos karl. Did he catch you being complacent in the 4th, or did you not prepare properly or... ?

Re: Curtis Woodhouse looking for revenge.
was very early in his career , and he was only young , he still is only young really think hes ony 23 ish . but i personally have never asked him about it , although when i did an interview with him for my program on a white collar show i asked him which was his hardest fight and he pointed out the one he drew (think it might have been his last fight , i cant remember opponents name ) he was ill going into the fight which made it probably seem a lot tougher physically .Wales wrote:What happened in the fight with Santos karl. Re: Curtis Woodhouse looking for revenge.
I think Woodhouse's progression is just fine, he looked very raw on his debut(as would anyone with no amateur experience) and obviously needed to be stepped up gradually. I don't think people understand how difficult it must have been to become a professional with no amateur experience or similar fight experience(eg.Kickboxing) whatsoever. I was pleasantly surprised when I heard he had beaten Hickman as having only seen his debut fight, you'd have to pick Hickman in that one. That was a big step-up. Consider current world rated british champion John Murray faced Hickman in his 22nd fight, then its not bad going at all. I wish Woodhouse good luck with the rest of his career - his is a good story and he's good for the game.
Re: Curtis Woodhouse looking for revenge.
I was 18 when that happened and I was carrying a back injury which hampered my training really bad.....I won the first 3 rounds by a landslide and totally ran out of steam in the 4th. Looking back I should not have fought but I was 18 fighting in front of nearly 800 people in my home town and I just went for it.Wales wrote:What happened in the fight with Santos karl. Anyway on the original topic I think woodhouse wins a very close decision against morris. Morris is underrated and never gets any notice for fights and that will make it an even harder fight.

Thanks, good luck for the future if you decide to continue. Dont leave your career as a could of been, no regrets and all that.chiv54 wrote:I was 18 when that happened and I was carrying a back injury which hampered my training really bad.....I won the first 3 rounds by a landslide and totally ran out of steam in the 4th.
