Correction to Soto v. Lorenzo fight

Post by informationnexus »

Hi,

I would like to respectfully request the following change.
For Humberto Soto v. Francisco Lorenzo, 6/28/08, it does not state that it
was for the WBC title. I would request that the fact that it was for the Interim WBC title be added. Then, a brief explanation that the due to the controversial ending, the WBC did not award the title. However, the Nevada State Athletic Commision did not change the official verdict.
This would be more consistent with other Boxrec. entries for fights with controversial endings. The following fights are examples of how Boxrec. lists the fight as a title fight but then explains the outcome.
Botha v. Schultz 12/9/95, Gilbert v. Howe, 9/21/07, Norris v. Tubbs, 11/21/89.
The info for the Soto fight fails to list it as a title fight when it in fact was.
So that this entry is consistent with the other boxrec.com entries, I respectfully ask that it be listed as a title fight.
Most sincerely,
CAS

I just noticed, just as another one of my posts notes, when you search this fight under the fighters names, it shows it as a title fight. However, when you search under officials, it does not show it was a title fight.
So, I would ask that it be listed as a title fight under the officials names as well.

Sincerely,

Could you link your search results? I don't think the fight is tagged as a title fight anywhere. Here the card on which it was held along with two fights marked as title fights.

Anyway, I agree that it has probably been a title fight. The issue is commensurable with the Molinares vs. Starling fight and has also been addressed here.

EDIT: The Soto vs. Lorenzo fight is now tagged as a title fight in BoxRec.
