O/T: NEED SOME (SERIOUS) ADVICE PEOPLE?
O/T: NEED SOME (SERIOUS) ADVICE PEOPLE?
Got a speeding thingy in the post today as I was apparently caught doing 64 in a 50 zone on the A1 (temp roadworks area).
Its a fair cop, I was driving and to be fair was doing that speed, just wanted advice on:
1. How many points I am likely to get and what fine??
2. More importantly, my license is in my old address (never changed it when I moved in with my wife), therefore should I use the 28 days I have before I need to send the form confirming it was me driving (I assume the pts and fine comes next?) to get my correct details and then send in the confirmation form or should I stop worrying and just send the form in ASAP to get it over and done with??
I am worried that I may get more points for having out of date details on my license!??
i know this sounds trivial but not really someone who gets in trouble and am a bit worried as to what to do??
And Yes it was me driving and I don't intend to dispute anything
Help fellas!!!

It'll should be a £60 fine and 3 points.
As for your license, just send it as it is. If they query it, just tell them you'd totally forgotten about it. I very much doubt you'll get done for that, they'll just tell you to get it sorted.

3 points £60 fine at least. Got done last year 35 in a 30 was offered a speed awarness course instead of points. £60 for the course and a full day of work. Took the points rather than trying to sort days of.

The license will be returned to his old address.Change address with the DVLA,its free and you should have the new one well within the 28 days you need to send it off againstates wrote:It'll should be a £60 fine and 3 points.

When a 'mate' of mine got one sent through and asked him to send his licence in he just left it, then when he got a reminder to send it in or else there was also a space to explain why he hadn't. So he just wrote back explaining that he had sent it in and was waiting for it to come back, he said infact he thought the envolope in which the reminder letter came in was his licence, he phoned the number on the letter to demand where his licence was and he got an apology and a promise someone will look into it, he later got a letter saying that they have such a big back log and will be in touch in due course....And that was the last he heard nearly a year ago. So got away with paying the fine and saved himself a few quid!
........ Mr Clarke, I know your on here, but have not read this!

Make out you have lost your license and apply for a replacement. Go for the speed awareness test, £70 is cheap to keep your license clean.
