Re: MEDLEY STANDS TALL
The best middleweight in Thailand, Ranjdar, is ranked 615 by Boxrec. He has won 6 fights, all in Thailand and mostly in lighter divisions. The second rated Thai middleweight has never won a fight.

Either that or the middlemen have increased their charges, in return burdening the purse...LOLAntonS wrote:We given Kiwis the arse & will try Thais for change, who are quality fighters......not to mention CHEAPRogue wrote:very surprised not to see any Kiwis on the under card as sacrificial lambs....however plenty of time for a bit of chopping and changing. :)![]()

Haha, translates as "Red Bull Gym". Good on them, sounds like they got Red Bull as a sponsor, which is also a big sponsor of the Thai boxing.N2 Shape wrote:

Re: MEDLEY STANDS TALL
Lets be fair here, boxing is a universal sport, it doesn't need cheap racial taunts thrown in about kiwis, fijians, thai's etc., we arn't blessed with an over abundance of fighters in any weight divisions, frankly the public and fans just want to see boxing in its purest form and no matter where a fighter is from, as long as he puts up a strong show its ok!. Look at Team Bohol, they have placed many Filipino fighters into the ring and always they put up a great fight, rarely do they quit and ocassionally they win well. Boxing needs an air of positivity about it, it needs a whole new marketing plan to win the public back again, what it doesn't need is racism, politics and individuals who want to manipulate the boxing public.
Re: MEDLEY STANDS TALL
sadly all those things r there . agree with u on the BOHOL team, at least they avago & R NOT FULL OF CRAP. turn up to fight no matter who opposition is & do there best. they r improving as well
Re: MEDLEY STANDS TALL
Almost all of the boys from the Bohol stable have fought young Aussie Prospect Lenny Zappa, caveman wrote:sadly all those things r there . agree with u on the BOHOL team, at least they avago & R NOT FULL OF CRAP. turn up to fight no matter who opposition is & do there best. they r improving as well
One of em flooring him twice, early, but then Zappa came back to knock the bloke out....
Point is, Bohol stable do come to fight, and they fight hard, also some good raw talent there,
Ranee Ganoy started off with Hermie and Jeff Bohol....
Re: MEDLEY STANDS TALL
Medley did himself proud tonight, He was in against a bigger more experienced opponent and held his own. Mundine was the clear winner but Rob can be proud. If the fight was on at 154 i think Medley could have won it.

Re: MEDLEY STANDS TALL
Well its over! another dose of Mundine hype, he can go ruffle his feathers again with the media, call out Danny Green, tell us how he's going to take on a world rated fighter next and whatever else he chooses to bleat, but guess what, I think Joe public has woken up to this man! The feedback i had last night was unanimous that PPV for Mundine is not really on anyones radar anymore in relation to a Mundine fight, so it's either step out into the real world or quietly retire. Everyone agreed that Rob Medley put up a good fight and that for Mundine to have been a real winner he would have had to have floored Medley, but like most of his opponents, he can't, Rob was tough and resilient and did himself proud and at 154 I too believe it would have been a closer fight. "I'm gonna be the first man to win 3 world titles in descending weight divisions" what a load of crap!
Re: MEDLEY STANDS TALL
Mundine wouldnt have been the same fighter at 154, I think Medley would have won a lot of the later rounds at 154 as Mundine would have been to weight drained.adamheight wrote:wouldnt go that far benben k wrote:Medley did himself proud tonight, He was in against a bigger more experienced opponent and held his own. Hermie Bohol has told me that he does not think the local referees and judges give his boys a fair go. He says he could get better Filipino fighters out here but they are wary of the officials.
Re: MEDLEY STANDS TALL
i remember seeing a fight where the phillipino guy won at least 6 of the 8 rounds but lost on points which effectively gave him two rounds only. as u could imagine he was furious and stormed out of the ring, the commentators were speachless not wanting to blast the officials, but not commentating about the aussie who was extremely lucky. i'd be astounded if the fellow has fought here since or in the future.

I think that was Junmar Dulog v Steven Wills for the Vacant NSW title,buster007 wrote:i remember seeing a fight where the phillipino guy won at least 6 of the 8 rounds but lost on points which effectively gave him two rounds only. as u could imagine he was furious and stormed out of the ring, the commentators were speachless not wanting to blast the officials, but not commentating about the aussie who was extremely lucky. i'd be astounded if the fellow has fought here since or in the future.
Re: MEDLEY STANDS TALL
yeah u wonder how the judges can be so bold, knowing that the result can be so damaging mentally to the fighter who has been ripped off.
Re: MEDLEY STANDS TALL
is it just in NSW. a lot of controversy with the judging seems to be from NSW. i realise it happens everywhere but lately any fight in new south wales brings out the critics. hate to b a NSW official at the moment
