Eastman/Hopkins and Larios/McCullough both on Beeb

According to http://www.secondsout.com both these fights will be screened on a day delay basis. This is excellent news. McCullough may only be on in Northern Ireland regions but this channel is accessable on sky digital i think.

Can't find the bit on secondsout about this, but great news re the Eastman fight - a day late but I guess I'll settle for that. Stay off the web for 24 hours and watch it "as live".

Not looking forward to seeing Wayne get a 12 round beat down too much though.

If this is true it is of course great news. Nothing as yet on the BBC web-site, whom I have noticed have removed their Boxing On The Beeb option. Not a good sign.

Yeah hope so. Witter is going to have to pull out all stops here - it's his last chance to erase the memory of the Zab fight with the American TV people. A TNT type win will work wonders. Good as your last fight and all that...

BBC is still crap, they cant even show the fights live. i am sure teletext is more imporntant

Does that mean that it's going to be on in the dead of night, or even worse just highlights during Grandstand?

I hope it gets on at a time when it's going to be seen by more than just the die-hard fans. Can you imagine if the unthinkable happens and Eastman wins, only to be seen by about 150,000 people who can be arsed to stay up until 4.am?

Your right there...although i would settle for full coverage at the dead of night rather than highlights during Grandstand where Boxing coverage is just an unhelpful chore to the BBC amongst the regular overdose of athletics, tennis, long distance walking marathons and whatever other rubbish they have on. Let's have some full coverage please

So depressing there was even a debate about showing this; boxing on UK TV has plummeted new depths with this, IMO. I'll watch it on the BBC, but will have already seen the HBO coverage with Roy Jones excellent analysis.

Well that ruins the whole element of surprise for me. Fuckin BBC. I'm not changing my life for the BBC. I'll get up and read boxing msg boards if I want, regardless of when they are showing the fight. I'll probably read a live round by round of the fight and tape the BBC broadcast. I hate the BBc for ruining my life.

I don't get to hear the HBO commentary that much but from what I have heard it is 10 times better than the sky and 10000000 times better than the BBC coverage. Larry Merchant

Is there a big difference?

I like Roy Jones' comments, he's usually on the ball and predicts things before they happen. Not too keen on Steward. Lampley is okay at calling it as it happens, describing the fight in real-time. Merchant can be really irritating with his sneering attitude, the only thing I like about him is that he isn't afraid to ask unflattering questions to the fighters in post-fight interviews.

As with all commentary, you should question everything they say, but on the whole it's a level above Sky, IMO. Saying that, I prefer the way Ian Darke raises his voice when a big shot lands.

The HBO guys are usually more placid. Depends what you like really.

Not sure about that comment, I think it was something to do with 'Mayweather sparring women' or something like that. A jibe about his domestic issues any case. Bit near the knuckle.

Ian Darke is a crap boxing commentator and an even worse football commentator. I don't really like any of the Sky boxing commentators or pundits to be honest and as for the BBC, I'm not even going to bother saying how much of a joke they are with that over-the-top idiot Bunce.

Fair play if they get Eastman/B-Hop, but when will we ever see live fights again on BBC? Never I guess.

7AM England time... No way guys...

U.S. Boxing time is always scheduled around EST, regardless where it's taking place.

The Taylor fight will be live around 10 PM EST, and Hopkins and Eastman should be fighting well before 11.

Surely if you're that interested, you could find yourself an audio stream... Go to bed early and wake up at 4 AM, or just stay up... Shouldn't be too unpleasant... Oh wait...
