mundine actually makes me cringe with embarressment.
Re: Anthony Mundine.....Meh!
I don't like raging on fighters of any style and have true respect for most fighters, particularly boxers, but please, stop talking about this idiot and rob him of the noteriety he clearly doesn't deserve.

Re: Anthony Mundine.....Meh!
Tony Mundine fought all over the world, was respected by all his son Anthony or Tony jonour should show some of that respect especialy to his dad who helped to make boxing great at the time. If you look at both dad and son records I know who has the better . Its not the I B O baby champ. ![[icon_shame.gif] :shame:](./images/smilies/icon_shame.gif)

Yeah it must be tough for Anthony to see his dad so revered and himself the most hated sportsman in Australia.harshfriller wrote:Tony Mundine was a real gentleman, i give him all respect, then and now, colin russell wrote:Tony Mundine fought all over the world, was respected by all his son Anthony or Tony jonour should show some of that respect especialy to his dad who helped to make boxing great at the time. And i don't mean a couple of ladies sitting around expressing there dislike.....I mean the majority of people really really hate him.
Watching his media coverage tonight on FOXsports news, Anthony walked out to the press with all the contender fighters and Medley, he went to sit next to Junior and stuck his hand out to shake Juniors, to my sheer delight Junior looked him in the eye and left him hanging
Re: Anthony Mundine.....Meh!

Re: Anthony Mundine.....Meh!
apparently mundine is looking terrible in the gym. he has a damaged right hip which left him limping after sparring with hamden last week.
his face also looks "wrong", not only gaunt, but discolored and flakey. he looks in his late 40's rather than early 30's.
i can see medley winning tonight

Re: Anthony Mundine.....Meh!
would b good to c medely win but choc has probly got some bullshit strategy worked out just in case
Re: Anthony Mundine.....Meh!
Mundine is full of pottential and continues to take the easy fight, or easy way out...
5 Fights Mundine needs to cement his legacy.
1) Felix Strum (WBA Middleweight Champ)
2) Kelly Pavik (WBC & WBO Middleweight Champ)
3) Arthur Abraham (Will hold version of SMW Championship)
4) Mikkel Kessler Avenge loss
5) Danny Green (IBO Cruiserweight Champion) although this fight would be more likley fought at LHW.
If he wins even 3/5 he will cement his legacy as one of Australia's Greatest.

Re: Anthony Mundine.....Meh!
Lets hope Mundine's glove tapes dont go astray like against Geale as that ploy earned him valuable rest time during the rounds.
As for the 5 fights to create a Mundine legacy, none of them will happen as Mundine will shirk all due to a pulled heart muscle!

Re: Anthony Mundine.....Meh!

Re: Anthony Mundine.....Meh!

abraham has far too much grit and power, mundine will not wanna go anywhere near him.
he moved weight divisions to avoid kessler so thats obviously not gonna happen.
and i dont think mundine would be interested in fighting green again, even at SMW. of course mundine says he wants to fight green but i dont think he does deep down.
he wants to just keep milking the aussie public until he retires.
im actually picking medley to stop him tonight.
of course medley wont get a decision, this would be near impossible on a boxa promotion
Re: Anthony Mundine.....Meh!
hope ur rite. medely had agood chance at lightmiddle, but at middle i think mundine will b to strong. either way he is not sucking me in to pay for it
Re: Anthony Mundine.....Meh!
I've always wanted to do this, so lets have a look at Mundines career so far.Oz_Box_R wrote:Mundine is full of pottential and continues to take the easy fight, or easy way out...

Legacy should be determined on the opponent fought, how old they were when the fight took place, and at what division the fight took place (Lester Ellis being a natural Super feather, but fought Mundine at supermiddle when he was 40 something) and the current form the opponent was in.
Mundines best wins.
Green Weight drained, but still a very good win
Soliman x 3, world class, but by beating him it isn't going to get a spot right next to Fenech in the IBHOF
Echols Echols had a bullet still lodged in his body when the fight took place
Mundines best Loss's
Ottke
Kessler
I didn't include Geale because he needs to prove still(besides the Mundine fight) that he can hang with a world class opponent, but on a domestic level probably the toughest opponent that Mundine has ever fought.
This is how the world really see's Mundine and the great opponents he's fought, after you take away the over the hill Australian fighters that were well beyond there best and the built up records of the Argie cabbies you are left with what i have above, and you'd have a hard time trying to convince the world that he's anything other than a domestic level fighter with impeccable timing.
How could this guy be considered even in our top 10
Re: Anthony Mundine.....Meh!
I am not going to comment on him anymore until he goes to Europe to take on Strum or the US for Pavlik.
Re: Anthony Mundine.....Meh!
houndawg has got it right. but he is still suckin people in to pay to watch

Re: Anthony Mundine.....Meh!
I suppose Mundine's strategy is OK in economic terms - he is a "villain" that people will always pay to watch in the hope he loses, and that effect will be tripled when he fights domestic opposition. But damn it must grate to have one of your legit world class guys do this, when he COULD do well (or even beat) some of the best in the world.
British fans would be spewing if Froch did the same thing - let's say he relinquished his world title and decided to fight Wayne Elcock and Sam Webb instead!

Guys I red lots here but post very little. I am 100% sure Anthony's management team have contacted at the minimum Sturm who I think Anthony could beat any day of the week, but why would any of these guys want to fight Anthony ? He would do to Strum what he did to Green he'd move/run for 12 rounds and take his title. NONE of these guys want to fight a quick boxer they want fighters.
I am a fan of Anthony's and think he the skills to out box most of these guys, but none of them would risk their titles on him.
I think the only way for him to fight any of them is to keep popping off the No 2's and 3's of a brand and wait for his shot. Till then he is resigned to just making money in Australia fighting the types of people he has been fighting, I don't like it either but what else can he do ?
Be kind
