Re: Moorsey
Hi Wales ,
Jamie is back in training after another shoulder operation and we hope he will be back in the ring late March/early april.
He will be at Middleweight and we will be looking for a good quality international opponent to move him in the world rankings. No need to do the domestic scene as he has spent many a year there now, if a decent title opportunity comes along we will take it.
Will keep you posted.

Re: Moorsey
I was hoping Jamie would take on Darren Barker for the British and Commonwealth belts. Yes, Jamie has done the domestic thing for many years, but he was beaten by a domestic fighter in his last fight and Darren Barker would be the perfect opportunity to prove himself at the middleweight domestic scene.STEVE WOOD wrote:Hi Wales ,

Re: Moorsey
If I was jamie it'd have to be for a #1 ranking (or high ranking) and not for the british or commonwealth trinket thats for sure.

Re: Moorsey
Moore should be looking at guys like Marco Antonio Rubio(lost to Pavlik), Enrique Ornelas(lost to Hopkins), Dionisio Miranda(lost to Karmazin) or Billy Lyell in order to gate crash the world rankings at middleweight as they are all at present in the worlds top 15 with the alphabet bodies. With the exception of Lyell they can all punch but all are winnable fights for Moore and none of these fighters have a considerable fan base, so hopefully wouldn't be adverse to travelling. A win would hopefully set up some sort of title eliminator.
Incidently, word is highly rated middleweight Gennady Golovkin is fed up with universum and is looking for a big fight. Though thats one fella I wouldn't want to fight unless it was for a lot of money or a world title. He has looked the business so far in his career; good reflexes, good power, boxing ability. But that said he hasn't really fought anyone of note yet.

Highly regarded middleweight contender Gennady Golovkin says he will not honor his contract with promoter Universum Box-Promotion/Spotlight Boxing. “Bouts against well-known and interesting opponents were held out in prospect,” Golovkin said. “But I haven’t got such a fight so far. A possible fight against WBC interim champ Sebastian Zbik was rejected because Universum allegedly has other priorities. Even the current offer to fight Felix Sturm for a world title is, in my opinion, nothing but smoke and mirrors. Sturm said over and over again that he would never again box for Universum.” Golovkin won a silver medal at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, ending a truly great amateur career. He turned pro in 2006 under the Universum/Spotlight-banner and is currently undefeated in 18 bouts, with 15 wins coming by way of knockout. His last ring appearance was a second round KO victory over previously unbeaten Mikhail Makarov in November. He is rated no. 1 by the WBC and the WBO, 2 by the WBA and 6 by the IBF. A statement from Universum might follow soon.

Last time I checked it was Mundine - and by the looks of it he'll probably be staying at middleweight now. Sturm's another one who wants to leave Universum alledgedly. Edit: Nice one Datsue, thats where I got my info from.MatthewS wrote:Isnt Golovkin the mandatory for Sturm?

Re: Moorsey
Moore could very easily lose to Barker and that surely would be the end of the road for him, there are a lot easier fights out there with more longterm reward.
Re: Moorsey
Mooresy to be acknowledged in the top three domestic fighters of the year in 2010. I had a dream he goes on a mad one at middle and shakes up the world. You have been warned ya c*nts.
Re: Moorsey
moore will take any fight i cant see him being groomed for any shots as he hasnt had that luxury since departing from big frank,& as done it the real way.
i feel for moore as he was way overdue!!he should of been competing with verno phillips, bronko mckarts, jc canselo, & the umas of this world many moons ago :!: theres been fighters as good if not better like williams, roberts, alexander that rotted & never got given cracks :!: of the subject how did barry hearn not secure title shots???happy earning of sky from 2 bob ibo fights
anyhow id love too see jamie take his form to middle but there's questions to be answerd.
1. was l.middle his better weight???
2.as he left it too late stepping up as the well may be dry??
3. will his current management get him active or draft him in rusty, to be left in the cold again.
personally i think moore needs a warm up with a jamie ambler over 6 then maybe a bendall, elcock, mcdermott in quick succesion where he can shine & call out macklin who's a friend but insults moore claiming being weight drained,he's a friend & should act like one giving moore a chance & a chance for his own beliefs to be answerd.
& this puts moore back where he was a title slot.

I`d imagine Barker would offer too much risk for too little reward.
Barker needs Moore - more than Moore really needs him.
Totally agree about not wasting time establishing himself on the domestic scene. Moore quality is well known, why waste even more time.

He has lost 4 fights in his career and you think it will surely be the end of the road if he loses? ever thought of going into Boxing management?Hagler2002 wrote:Moore could very easily lose to Barker and that surely would be the end of the road for him, there are a lot easier fights out there with more longterm reward.

Re: Moorsey
ok clever dick, tell me where Moore would go if he lost at domestic level against Barker? It would certainly put him years away from a world title shot, time he hasn't got!ERIC GUY wrote:He has lost 4 fights in his career and you think it will surely be the end of the road if he loses? ever thought of going into Boxing management?Hagler2002 wrote:Moore could very easily lose to Barker and that surely would be the end of the road for him, there are a lot easier fights out there with more longterm reward.
