Has he always been a late sub, I thought he was given time to prepare for Mitchell and Cotto? Perhaps I'm wrong.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Gotta feel a bit sorry for N'dou, keeps taking these short notice fights, wonder how good he would be if he had more time to prepare. I know he's a bit limited, but he could probably achieve more if he wasn't always a late sub.
He obviously keeps himself in very good shape between fights and for this reason I don't think he would be much better - he has his limitations technically that I think will always be there no matter how much time he has to prepare.
Also, if the other fighter knew it was N'dou weeks in advance, I think they would change a bit in their approach also.

Like I said, I'm not sure - although I'm pretty certain we was given a fairly long notice for Mitchell, as it was discussed as a bad fight on these boxing sites for a few weeks before it actually happend.jamesmcdonnell wrote:N'dou didn't have long to prepare for Cotto, I don't know why, but I remember him complaining about it, can't remember if that's the case with Mitchell, but I know that N'dou generally is known for being an anytime anywhere fighter.

Maybe they should see what Emmanuel Clottey is up to, last fought a few months ago, must be looking for work now.

I know who will just the man who will fight Witter tommorow and has been in some good fights recently.

I would certainly take that for Witter as a short notice job. No forgone conclusion either.
I think an Urkal vs Witter fight would be very interesting, Urkal has been active - he did fight Harries only in October or something. He is an excellent fighter (if he hasn't retired, he still should really be in the top ten). However, I don't think its a good move because Urkal is a spoiler and the fight could be dull, dull, dull.
It is probably a harder fight for Junior to win than N'dou.

I would never take Augustus for Witter unless I knew for a fact that he hadn't been in training for a good while. The only reason Emanuel has so many losses is because of the short notice nature of so many of his contests. Look what happened against Trujillo when he'd had a proper training camp - he looked like a world champ in there.

What about the highly-regarded Isaac Hiroyhsitma (sp), holds a win over PHILIP N'DOU and is ranked, and due to fight in the next fortnight I think.
Was inked to fight Lovemore last year, but Lovemore pulled out over promotional differences.
N'Dou has said before he'd be willing to fight Junior.
Some mug asked him last September....
'Of course, Ricky Hatton isn’t the only world-class Light Welterweight in the UK. Junior Witter is now very highly ranked and is as high as #3 with the WBC, would you consider facing him, have you heard much about him?
Junior is a great fighter, a very elusive type of opponent but I’d beat him, he has the perfect style for me but he has the perfect style to upset Ricky Hatton too!
So you’d be prepared to fight Witter then?
I’d fight Junior tomorrow, anywhere. No problem.'
