Galaxy MD15 Rose, IMO.
Naseem Hamed & Diego Corrales in a 12-rounder at Jr. Lightweight, circa-2000?

Re: Hypothetical Match-Up Game
Hammed without a doubt had the power to stop Corrales imo, but I think Corrales size advantage would’ve been too much for Hammed. Corrales would’ve stop Hammed in around 7 or 8 rounds. Hammed weird style would not save him from Corrales power.
Don't know if it have been done before but here it go:

IMO, Ortiz on a Split Decision, in a fight Mayweather may've won, were it not for his hands, which often let him down at this weight.

Pryor just- just- outworks JCC on the basis of superior physicality, after 12 rounds of simply ferocious give and take. Split Decision, all kinds of punch records broken, and neither man is ever the same again afterwards.Goodnight, Irene wrote:IMO, Ortiz on a Split Decision, in a fight Mayweather may've won, were it not for his hands, which often let him down at this weight.

Benitez outboxes KT, for my money, Wilfred just doesn't fit the profile of the kind of fighter who walks into KT's cleverly-set traps. Wilfred the better technician on the outside and the inside, and can use shoeshine flurries and lateral slides to offset KT's heavier hands, though he may well hit the deck at some point.
(obviously the above comes with the caveat that it's a trained and motivated benitez)
ummm, next.

I favor a prime Tarver here. Antonio's prime mostly consisted of whipping Jones twice, but I always felt he had underrated skill and was very good defensively. Tarver by a comfortable UD.

Re: Hypothetical Match-Up Game
I think Kostya best weight was 140, his size would not help him at 147 or 154. Vargas totally destroys Kostya at 154. Vargas KO 5Goodnight, Irene wrote:Chocolate close UD.

Re: Hypothetical Match-Up Game
I really, really think Camacho was under-rated & too-forgotten (today) as both a Jr. Light & Lightweight, but Pedroza edges him here. Pedroza was really the better man, of the two.

Cooney survives an early knockdown and some tense moments to dispatch Cooper in the 6th.
A young, explosive Ray Mercer pulls the semi-upset and outpoints Big George to a UD.
Camacho's blazing speed offsets Casamayor's slightly better skillset to take a MD.

Re: Hypothetical Match-Up Game
Holyfield by KO 2. Holyfield way too strong for Jones. I don't see Jones reflexes helping him at all on this fight. Jones will get pin to corner and he is not getting out of there in one piece.

Montanez is maybe the greatest Rican who ever lived. He'd easily sweep aside Gatti at Lightweight. He belongs in better company.

Re: Hypothetical Match-Up Game
I always thought Julio was at his absolute peak as a lightweight. He was quicker at closing the distance, his punches had more oomph on them & he was a tiny bit sharper at bobbing & weaving under shots. So with that said...Goodnight, Irene wrote:Montanez is maybe the greatest Rican who ever lived. He'd easily sweep aside Gatti at Lightweight. He belongs in better company.

El Radar proves just too slick & evasive for the 140 pound version of JCC superstar. I could see Chavez putting him down a couple of times late & has him hanging on at the end, but Benitez takes the decision.
Victor Rabanales (in the Rafael Marquez fight) vs Rafael Marquez (first Silence Mabuza fight)
Would Rafa be able to turn the tide, with another thirty odd pro bouts under his belt, or would the awkward, strong Rabanales just have his number?

I do think Marquez turns the tide with the extra ring experience. I still have a niggling worry he'd struggle in stages, though. I like Marquez on a competitive UD, here.

Casamayor has the fundementals to beat Naseem I think he counter punches him and wins widely on points.

Prime Vargas at his peak, and in his best weight class, takes a UD or late stoppage against a somewhat past it Sweet Pea. El Feroz never fights a better fight on this night, as he sees an absolute ring legend primed for the upset.

I think it would be a classy, fast paced fight at range for the first 8 rounds but I see Jofre taking over down the stretch and winning a clear, competitive decision.tzyuforever wrote:Prime Vargas at his peak, and in his best weight class, takes a UD or late stoppage against a somewhat past it Sweet Pea. The way the game works is --- one member posts a match, the next person answers briefly with a prediction, then we move on. You or someone else needs to address Mugabi-Williams, before another match can be posted.dom74 wrote:Nigel Benn vs Marvin Hagler at 160lb.
