Is that Johnny Nelson "conquerer" James Warring, he resided in Miami?

Klitchko's footwork and "bounce" looks better then than he does now. Klitchsko also looks alot smaller than he does now.

Klitschko is 6'5 and 205lbs in that clip he looks much less bulky than now. He's obviously young also so grew a bit since.

Well Vitali certainly looked slimmer and more mobile those days. So thats makes Pele Reid and former Cruiserweight Champion Warring that beat him at kick-boxing.

Hmm, i find something extremely suss about how klitchsko has transformed himself from that to the 250lbs monster we see now, he looks almost unrecognisable, 45 lbs is a hell of a lot of bulk to put on between the ages of 25 and 33. I was 180lb at that age and I'm 195 now, even when I worked out 4 times a week I never got to more than 195, and looking at that, you have to say Klitchsko doesn't look like a naturally bulky guy either.

that has really shocked me. i barely recognised him.

I thought that was Rocky 4 at first.

He does look slimmer then though. Im not even that age yet (only 19), but at 16 and 17 I was 210lbs then 224lb! Too much pasties but it didn't look fat because of the weightlifting I do. Late last year though I don't know how the hell I burned it off down to 196lb and im now 205lbs. Good job Im 6ft 3 or I would of looked like a pudding. :o

Wonder if putting on all that bulk he has now contributes to his stamina problem and having a low guard maybe because of the heaviness of his arms. He has a better and higher guard on that fight though.

yes, but boxer's aren't weightlifters, they do lots of cardio work which tends to limit the amount of muscle they can put on.

everyone accused jones jr of doing roids, when he went up from 175 to 200 lbs. That's an increase of 14%

Vitali has gone from a 205lbs to a very chiselled looking 250 which is 21% increase in bodyweight. I must say I find that pretty suspicious myself, though of course I have no idea whether or not he did.

Bearing in mind that lewis at 25 weighed as high as 235, and the last time he was in proper shape at 33, he weighed 246 at his heaviest.

I'm not saying he did or he didn't I just find it a bit suss, especially with the steroid revelations recently regarding vitali.

Wouldn't he have lifted weights to get that much bulk? Looks like a bodybuilder now.

Tommy Morrison said you need steroids to compete in the heavyweight division. Who knows what any fighter in the heavyweight division are on!

I'm pretty sure both Klits have been on the roids.

without wanting to kick off any kind of racial thread, i have to say i think caucasian fighters struggle to get the necessary strength and bulk to compete in the heavyweight division and therefore the ones that do make an impact are more likely to have taken some muscle enhancing drugs...

Botha and Morrison both were steriod users, Botha got caught, Morrison admitted use.... Klitchko failed a test....

That's a really interesting fight to see, mind you I recall seeing a young Lennox Lewis ( amateur against Ruddock I think, or sparring Tyson ) and he looked rail thin.

Love to see the Reid/Klit KO if anyone can get hold of it.

As I said, boxing workouts are basically a form of circuit training, with the emphasis on cardio. The strength training by comparison is a relatively small part of the regime.

Cardio work is like kryptonite to a bodybuilder, which is why so many of them can hardly walk up a flight of stairs.

i was trying to date that video... must be 1992ish i would say!!!
it is also difficult to know if those stats put up at the beginning are true...

all that rocky stuff makes it all slightly unrealistic.....

Vitali turned pro at 232 age 25.... and his weight has increased since then....

you can see how a muscular strong Pele knocked out the rake though ;-)

following on from james' point, it baffles me how MCCline can stay close to 280 whilst maintaining the necessary cardio to do 12 rounds.... clearly they do a lot of sprints and not many long distance runs...

Bodybuilders do no cardio, they cut by extreme dieting and a cocktail of drugs...... a very unhealthy combination.....
