Michael MaGuire

Post by stujones »

I really rated this lad, thought he was a fantastic talent. I didn't realise he had re-considered his decision to go back as an amateur and boxed last month. He is boxing this weekend also.

It was suggested on here that he is a bit of a "slacker" in training, has his attitude changed - what made him change his mind.

At the whole punch of Olympians and would/could be Olympians that turned over in 2007/2008 - MaGuire was the one I was most looking forward to seeing progress.

i think he is now being promoted by maloney but managed by hayemaker. just like george groves is. he needs stiffer competition. saying that the last time he fought a live opponent he nearly got beat. and alot of viewers thought ancliff deserved the victory. good talent but he is a slacker.

He should have stayed amateur. He would have been a shoe-in for 2012.

Iv sparred him alot before i left the TKO Gym, its his fittness that let him down, different Class for the 1st 2 rounds.. He's on the Napa Bill on the 5th I think you'l see then what he is capable of. He's away training at the mo and will be fully Fit

The Fella is Class :TU:

He gave Seamus Macklin a shellacking in the ams - nearly stopped him on one occasion, if I remember rightly. As others have said he has the talent to go all the way but his dedication is definitely questionable.

I remember leaving one England show in which he'd been the star thinking this boy has got it all, think it was against the Americans. A shame if the potential is spoiled by a bad attitude, hope he sorts himself out as he has real talent.

I've only seen one fight he didnt impress me with his boxing (v Ancliff) and defnetly didnt impress me with his attitude as he argued with Booth and stormed out of the ring.
