Wasn't Norton 36 and well past his prime ?

And if he's a bum how come he's in the Internatioal Boxing Hall Of Fame:

And math must not be your forte, GOOFBALLL, because they fought 39 rounds.

Granny- you're my personal pinata.

Ali fought glass chinned Ken Norton THREE times and still hasn't beaten him.

In those THREE fights Ali never even scored a knockdown.

Where was the MAGIC PUNCH that 'knocked out' Sonny Liston with a single 'punch' in the first round?

Something STINKS to high heavens about the Religion of Ali's hero and his 'erratic' career.

Ali struggled with mediocre, glass-chinned Ken Norton in THREE fights.

Ali shills' only explanation is to falsely claim that mediocre, glass-chinned Ken Norton was one of 'the greatest of all time.'

Which he definitely was not.

HOW OLD was Ken Norton when he was knocked out by nobody Jose Luis Garcia?

HOW OLD was Ken Norton when he knocked out in 2 rounds by George Foreman?

The stench from the blatant news media sell of their Ali increases as you watch them try to explain away their hero's struggles with mediocre Ken Norton.

He avenged his loss to Garcia and lots of fighters got knocked out by Foreman.

And Norton acquitted himself better against Foreman, albeit marginally, than this fella:

Garcia was 25 pounds heavier than in their first fight when he lost to Norton. He was totally out of shape.

Norton had a GLASS CHIN

and Ali fought him for THIRTY-NINE rounds and never even scored a knockdown.

Here's Ken Norton's IBHOF entry:

Granerry-you like apples

If you were half the man Muhammad Ali and Ken Norton were in the ring you might actually like yourself.

How do you like them apples?

Who's your daddy?
Disgusting Ali shill TheOne's daddy is Thomas Hauser.

TheOne swallows and regurgitates every word Hauser spews out.

Other daddy's of TheOne are the great boxing 'expert' David Remnick (LOL)

and an UNNAMED Sports Illustrated writer who makes up quotes and attributes them to others.

Who's your daddy, Francis?

I am.

Why did you run from the thread?

TheOne's hero Ali fought glass-chinned, mediocre Ken Norton THREE times

and still hasn't beaten him.

Poor TheOne has no way to explain how Ali can be the 'greatest of all time' when he struggled in THREE fights with glass-chinned, mediocre Ken Norton.

Because every fight is different and styles makes fighters. Ali was never known for being a puncher so its no surprise to me he didn't stop or drop Norton. Norton lost a SD over 15 rounds against Holmes, why didn't Holmes knock him out....for exactly the same reason, styles makes fights.

Lots of great fighters have losses, bad performances, knockdowns and disputed decisions over some average fighters, why keep picking Ali out, you could use this argument about lots of fighters.

Ok...each to their corners. Here's what I get from this thread.

1. granberry feels we need to understand the limits of Ali's talents and skills and that he is not worthy of acclaim. granberry is generous with his time and is willing to give his best explanation as the "why's" of this. All we need to do is ask.
2. granberry does not feel that Ken Norton was worthy of acclaim, and was also very limited in his abilities. He will always take time out of his busy day to help us understand this better.
2. Many people disagree with his premise some rather profoundly and are willing to debate the issue.
3. Everyone loves to engage in the ol' ad homimens every now and again once they have given it their best, and others still disagree. These subjects get personal quickly.

I think that covers it.

Now can we have some peace, and civil discussion? It's still early 2010 and I'm hopin for a good year folks!

However since this thread has boiled down to mostly personal attacks, I think it has run it's course.

I think I'll repeat.......In summary

granberry states that based on his record Ken Norton is a bum, and furthermore this offers us all proof that Alli must be a bum as well, since these two boxed 39 inconclusive rounds against each other. granberry would like to share this info with us, we are free to conclude from these facts what we wish.
