Ummmmm - Jamie Moore against Darren Barker - now thats a fight I would like to see - I suspect Wood/Maloney would be happy to match that fight but will Meaty Mick run the risk on it??

Re: Moorsey
I'm sure Matthew Macklin would be willing to avenge his loss to Moore sometime in near future. If his world title shot doesn't happen I reckon this fight is a real possibility. It is a mouth watering prospect.
Re: Moorsey

Re: Moorsey
Here is my opinion on that one. Moore wins by atomic knockout in round 6. Barker is horribly overrated and I would choose Duddy and Lee to box the ears off him let alone Moore or Macklin.MachoMan09 wrote:Spud wrote:Ummmmm - Jamie Moore against Darren Barker - now thats a fight I would like to see - I suspect Wood/Maloney would be happy to match that fight but will Meaty Mick run the risk on it??
Hopefully he would risk it. I would love that fight too. Both fellas are obviously great blokes and are exciting boxers to watch. ITV would be all over that match-up. Push for that fight, Jamie!
Barker is a car crash waiting to happen.
Make the fight - watch him buckle. I'll buy that for a dollar!

Re: Moorsey
boxing has allways been the same, people bang on about the old days, but if you go back to the 50's it was controlled by mafia you could have 80 wins & no shot. look how long it took archie moore to get a crack for instance, in his forty's.
would the famous four of fought one another if they could of made millions fighting lesser opponents...
of course they wouldnt.

Re: Moorsey
when you say struggling im taking you mean for talent... as there are plenty of wealthy fighters nowadays.
people have been saying throughout the ninetys & noughties it's dying etc.wasnt everything great in the 80's apart from the music??
proffessional boxing is a buisness first & foremost which can be a bitter pill to swallow, but every now & then you get a treat & you simply cant beat it.

Re: Moorsey
if you go back to 70's & 80's most fighters held down jobs, even bruno done hod carrying, i know im right when there's plenty of full time pro's who aint even bagged titles domestically :!: .
i aint gonna start naming names but they are very luck to dedicate all there time to the sport.

Re: Moorsey
I shouldnt think there are many ordinary people on that or higher... the higher earners skew it up. Is the median wage listed anywhere?MachoMan09 wrote:It depends what you call wealthy, I suppose. There are very few pro boxers in the UK or anywhere else for that matter, who earn the national average wage out of boxing per year. The average full-time UK wage is circa £31,000 p/a.
Re: Moorsey
Is that really the national average? Almost everyone who I know is lucky if they take home more than 20k per year after tax.MachoMan09 wrote:It depends what you call wealthy, I suppose. so why have you contradicted yourself
DD
i was talking on fighters world champions not facing one another because they can earn decent fighting bums.& that you have some full time pro's who are full time with no title im not saying its clutterd.
whats your back ground do you have any expieriance

Re: Moorsey
Barker would beat moore, and imo easily! He is world class and should hopefully be fighting for world titles this year. Duddy ran, Macklin ran and so will Moore. Why wont they fight him? Because they're not stupid and they know Barker will win. Lets try and get these fights on, great domestic fights and how good will it be for british boxing!!!! Good luck Moore. ;;-)

Re: Moorsey
Barker has done nothing to prove his world class credentials - top lad and looks to be a very good boxer but to say he is world class is foolhardy at best.
