LIVE Amateur Boxing brought to you by the Port Victoria ABC, Scotland, on Friday 22nd January 2010 at 19:30 GMT
The first Amateur Boxing Pay Per View Broadcast in the United Kingdom!
Watch the whole show for just £1.99 payable through PayPal... just over $3
This is very much a trial show to see what can be done, don't expect HBO, Showtime or SkySports broadcast quality, but, who knows, you could be very pleasantly surprised. It's an annual club show, always a sell out crowd, and very good matchmaking. around 12 - 14 bouts.
The broadcast host is Warrior Boxing, a UK amateur boxing forum but all the money goes straight to the Port Glasgow Victoria Amateur Boxing Club.

No offense Craig but I hated when pro boxing started with the PPV and I rarely ever watch PPV since it usually comes on cable TV a week later so I will really not like amateur boxing going the way of PPV. In fact amateur boxing has a hard enough time drawing fans with the crap scoring system, I don't see PPV for amateur boxing being much of a hit but what do I know.craigstephen wrote:LIVE Amateur Boxing brought to you by the Port Victoria ABC, Scotland, on Friday 22nd January 2010 at 19:30 GMT

The problem here in the UK is that the TV companies do not support boxing with the exception of SkySports.
I believe that the idea of this is to give amateur boxing more exposure and if the production company can prove that it is a success based on the buys, they can attract more sponsors, allowing them to stream future shows free of charge. It's all "chicken and egg" stuff at the moment. They do have a big phone company interested in the outcome.
