burns is'nt a puncher so cook might be ok, after watching cooks last 2 fights and the punishment he took he should hang up the gloves, he tried at world title level already so i have no interest in watching him get beaten again, lets have burns v someone coming up the ladder rather than downHorse wrote:Nicky Cook.leforge wrote:Burns should fight who for the vacant title?
mitchell v burns

Re: mitchell v burns
Cook is by far the most credible opponent for Burns to fight for the British title, if Mitchell has vacated it.handles wrote:burns is'nt a puncher so cook might be ok, after watching cooks last 2 fights and the punishment he took he should hang up the gloves, he tried at world title level already so i have no interest in watching him get beaten again, lets have burns v someone coming up the ladder rather than down

no public interest in that match, cook aint going nowhere with the british title even if he won it, already proved that one mate, lots more of exciting boxers to watch for that title and see their progression after, how many times do you want to see cook get knocked out mateHorse wrote:Cook is by far the most credible opponent for Burns to fight for the British title, if Mitchell has vacated it.handles wrote:burns is'nt a puncher so cook might be ok, after watching cooks last 2 fights and the punishment he took he should hang up the gloves, he tried at world title level already so i have no interest in watching him get beaten again, lets have burns v someone coming up the ladder rather than down

Absolute rubbish. That fight would sell massively in Scotland. Burns has a good following and Cook a relatively decent name for himself domestically.handles wrote:no public interest in that match, cook aint going nowhere with the british title even if he won it, already proved that one mate, lots more of exciting boxers to watch for that title and see their progression after, how many times do you want to see cook get knocked out mateHorse wrote:Cook is by far the most credible opponent for Burns to fight for the British title, if Mitchell has vacated it.handles wrote:burns is'nt a puncher so cook might be ok, after watching cooks last 2 fights and the punishment he took he should hang up the gloves, he tried at world title level already so i have no interest in watching him get beaten again, lets have burns v someone coming up the ladder rather than down

Which domestic Super Featherweights look like they have more of a chance than Cook at a higher level?handles wrote:no public interest in that match, cook aint going nowhere with the british title even if he won it, already proved that one mate, lots more of exciting boxers to watch for that title and see their progression after, how many times do you want to see cook get knocked out mate
Ricky Burns?
Derry Mathews?
Gary Sykes?
Cook may have already lost twice at World level, but that doesn't mean he can't have future success at the top level against the right opponents.

Mitchell has got to be stripped of his title if he doesn't fight Burns.
