Peter Nyland correction
Peter Nyland correction
In the BoxRec database, there's a U.S. fighter named Peter Nyland(US-CA-278563), who fought Willie Williams at the Henry Fonda Theatre on Jan 27.
According to several Swedish sources, the guy fighting Williams was a Swede - named Peter Nylund (not -land).
Sources (in Swedish, but you can recognize names and stuff):

Regarding the other fight listed for "Nyland" on BoxRec, vs. Guadalupe Acosta, I don't have that much information - so you need to check somehow if there IS a fighter named "Peter Nyland" or if both these fights were fought by Nylund. However, I've found these cached on Google (FightNews using the name Nylund, the other "amateur one" using Nyland):

Nylund's birthplace is Borås, Sweden (or somewhere near that town) and his nationality thus Swedish, but his hometown (L.A.) is correct, since all Swedes have to spar and fight abroad due to Swedish legislation (which, btw, allows all other kinds of martial arts...).

Peter Nyland is on the official commission reports.
But U are right that the reporting media calls him Peter Nylund, so it is entered in his birth name.
U might want to take this issue up with the California Commission.

Sorry for not checking this thread again. I personally don't have any info on Peter - I'm just the average Swedish BoxRec visitor who also reads newspapers and is able of seeing that 1+1 should probably equal 2...
I have this link to an interview with Peter (NB - his name is still Nylund). Could be something if one wants to dig deeper into this issue.
At least it tells us his age (23), birthplace (Borås, Sweden), and the name of his combined trainer/manager (Shaheed Suluki). And also we can learn that his favorite fighters are Mayweather Jr. and Hopkins...

This could also be interesting (although maybe it doesn't help quite as much...):
Peter Nylund has a minor part in a Hollywood movie!

Sure, but as I already said, I don't have that information.Freiheit wrote:Birthplace, Manager and division changed/corrected. We need the exact birthdate we cant just use "23 years".
