Williams vs Chisora - Williams is considering pulling out?

Post by terrez »

Williams vs Chisora for the British Title.

First off, I can't really see the benefit or Williams fighting Chisora, I know he has said he will retire after this fight regardless, but lets say Williams wins vs Chisora and well; I can't see him hanging up the gloves then? But in defeating Chisora this will not really gain Williams much as Chisora is unproven and holds no title's?

I can understand why Williams would be considering if it is worth fighting Chisora, but even in considering if to take this fight shows he may not be set fully on retiring? I mean if he is going to retire regardless, then why would it really matter if it was Sexton or Chisora he fights?

I'd imagine he'll make more money fighting Sexton. How much more money I have no idea. I don't think Danny will retire. I think he'll keep fighting defending the British title, and retire once he loses it. There's quite a few good domestic fights out there for Danny and still a few good pay days.

If Danny could defend the British title a couple of times against people like Sexton, Audley, Rogan, Sprott etc. Surly he wouldn't be far away from a title shot?

I think if one of our heavyweights (excluding Haye) could string 3-4 domestic wins together in a row. They wont be far from a title shot. Which one is anyone's guess.

Danny is a very complex person.
He didn't turn up for the Press Conference - but that doesn't mean he won't be there fight night.
The truth is only Danny knows.
Jimmy Mac must feel like he's starring in Back to the Future.
Bad memories of Bolton !
I was in the same hotel yesterday but not at the Conference and the mood seemed very light - no panics anywhere.

Quite. 'Night of Champions'? They need to put John Higgins v Phil Taylor on the bill for that title to be appropriate.

Actually knowing Wazza it would be Higgins v That Wolfie darts bloke.

I feel sympathy for Mickey Helliet. He signs Williams up, battles to stop him being stripped of his title after the fridge debacle, and then has to go through that press conference announcing that Williams hasn’t decided if he wants to fight in the fight he’s accepted. I do like Danny but this show's lineup has enough messing around without adding to the confusion. Oh well, looks like we'll find out over the next 24 hours whether another fight is scrapped from the already depleted card.

for many years there was a lot of entertainment in Danny getting discombobulated and coming back.

but those days are long gone

getting floored and wobbly after about 10 seconds against Carl Baker is a bit too far for me now.

i wont be watching any fight from now on.

If Chisora can take a punch he might win, no-one whacked him back that much so far.

What was his chin like in the amatuers?
