Went to the Jimmy Thunder-Collin Wilson fight a few years ago, Wilson was a great under dog, haing won only four of his prior thirteen fights against local opponents(all right a couple of those losses where to Kali Meehan and one to Joe Bugner), he was obviously just a fight to ease Thunder back into the local fight scene. Wilson suprised all by dominating Thunder, winning most rounds.

Good show too Thunder vs Wilson was a dual main event with Paul Briggs and a NZer, Tosca Petridis vs Paul Murdoch, Sam Soliman fought Mike cope and one of my mates fought as well. All in all a good night out.

no wat ur sayin toppity, it was a "long time ago" but he handled leapai for wat was it 8 or 9 rounds before he got caught & thats when he was on the piss the nite before.that was only months ago. he can still handle the domestic scene & justin has only had a few fights. if wilson turns up with his game face on i think justin mite b in for a hard one, if not we r probly gunna get new champ. i reckon its a good match up .well done brian amatruda

Now we see Hoppa fighting the Iron Rhino on 13th February for the IBF version of the Australian Heavyweight title. Isn't Colin Wilson the current champion after his KO crushing of Hoppa?

Hoppa must be glad that his next bout on the 18th March versus Shane Cameron is just outside the 30 day KO rule, just incase he gets a bit of a touch up from the Rhino.

IBF Australasian title. Different title altogether. Australasia usually means Australia and New Zealand, but in boxing you see South Africans and even Canadians competing.

no, Hoppas title was not on the line against Wilson, but because of his KO loss it was vacated...

No. Wilson is champion because he KOed Hopoate. Australian boxing rules, 3 minute rounds, no weight problem, KO changes title if champion loses. Wilson is defending champion.

So if hoppa lost on points, he will still be champ??

Would have been. Too late now.

This will be interesting. Whitehead turned pro late in life but he has one hell of an amateur record behind him.
