WBU Elimination Tournament

Post by kevo »

In keeping with his 'Give the Little Guy a Chance' campaign, Michael 'The People's Champ' Spinks has requested that his SSO taskmasters give eight lucky pugs the chance to fight in a WBU Title Elimination Tournament.

the fighter chosen for this event are:

DARIUSZ MICHALCZEWSKI 5-3-1 (3)
JACK DELANEY 3-0-0 (2)
TOMMY BURNS 6-3-0 (3)
BILLY CONN 6-3-0 (1)
MAURO MINA 5-1-2 (3)
YOUNG STRIBLING 6-3-0 (3)
CHRIS EUBANK 5-2-2
OTIS GRANT 3-1-0 (2)

Subs:

Danny Green
Michael Moorer
Glencoffe Johnson
Robin Reid

If all managers agree for their fighters to participate in this ground breaking, one of a kind event, then we'll get started in week 11.

If any managers reject the offer, then their fighter will be replaced by another eligible fighter.

If any of the participating fighters rank exceeds 15 during the tournament, they are still eligible to fight for the title thanks to our fair and honorable Commish.

Below are the randomly generated first round fights.

Round 1 Quarter Finals

QF 1 - DARIUSZ MICHALCZEWSKI 5-3-1 (3) Vs YOUNG STRIBLING 6-3-0 (3)

QF 2 - JACK DELANEY 3-0-0 (2) Vs 16 MAURO MINA 5-1-2 (3)

QF 3 - CHRIS EUBANK 5-2-2 Vs OTIS GRANT 3-1-0 (2)

QF 4 - BILLY CONN 6-3-0 (1) Vs TOMMY BURNS 6-3-0 (3)

Round 2 Semi Finals

SF 1 - Winner QF 1 Vs Winner QF 3

SF 2 -Winner QF 2 Vs Winner QF 4

Round 3 Final

Winner SF1 Vs Winner SF 2 ~WBU Final Eliminator~

Yours sincerely,

kevo

I have a feeling Tunney will be thrusted in to the top 15, sooner rather than later, and request that he be replaced with Philadelphia Jack O'Brien?

Yours truly.

22nd raked Tunney? You sure? This could be your only chance to capture a belt.

The WBU title may one day be the most coveted of all with groundbreaking ideas like this. Well done Kevo.

Sorry man, I just meant that Tunney is a tough mofo, and that other belt holders will try and avoid him. The risk outweighs the reward.

After this week where Tunney takes on a difficult fight in Loughran (Tunney never ducks), he will be carefully working his way in to a mandatory position for the top belts.

'Operation Tunney will Twat you' starts in week 11.

More glory to SSM!

No GBP fighters named?

WHY?

Because GBP is the most feared name in SimBoxing. That's why.

We wear this as a badge of honor and appreciate that Kevo recognizes the danger.

Spinks, Tunney, Burns, Braddock.....HW names that have no business within this tournament, and yet the one "HW" champ who has managed to win a "title" shows they know that you don't mess around with true HW's. Namely Conn and Rosenbloom, the current GBP stable.

***GENE TUNNY WITHDRAWS FROM THE TOURNAMENT. TAKING HIS PLACE IS MAURO MINA***

I take it from BoxBuzz' moaning, that he wants his fighter in the tourny.

that just leaves:

if #17 Young Stribling wins, he'll surely be ranked higher than #15 and be ineligible to fight for the WBU so I would be stupid to let him fight in this tournament. Let's just call it as it is....Spinks is scared of Young Stribling.

Hmm, you make one good point (and one ridiculous one)

Could the Commish see fit to allow a fighter with a higher rank than 15 fight for the WBU title? Only for the duration of the Tourney though. This way I won't have to disqualify any fighters or their moaning, bitching managers.

Stribling is not currently in the top 15, so if he enters the tourney that way it's fine by me.

New Specs? Nonsense, you added us after we complained to hide your despicability. Then you thought it would be cute to match us against a fighter who should not be in the tournament at all. And besides, whether it was there or not is irrelevant. We FELT left out, and that is just as important as BEING left out. It's politically incorrect to allow others to FEEL left out. An apology is in order if nothing else for placing Conn's name at the bottom of the roster, we stopped looking after we read the first name. Who knew you would attempt to confuse and confound by placing the great name of Billy Conn "in the mix"?

Has anyone agreed to these terms? Will Spinks be "resting up" as Conn disposes of the people you have placed in his way? I imagine the answer is "YES.

I think Yosemite Sam said it best when he spoke the words, "You're Despicable".

1) Roy Jones is in the top 15 and is therefore ineligble for the title.

2) Who the fornicate would duck Danny Green?

Tell you what, i'll stick him in as one of the Subs, save any more whinging and crying on your part.

We will wipe and flush Tommy Burns in the normal course of a day's business.

However....when does this begin? We are booked this week.
