Yep, if Reid can chin him that often despite throwing very few shots, then I cannot see him lasting long against Joe who will certianly throw a lot more shots.
I noticed that the Sports Network mentioned that Joe is looking to either unify the belts or move up in weight. Well, fighting someone that holds one of those belts wouldn't be a bad idea. I know he's had a long layoff, but if he's serious, then his next fight should be for one of the other belts.

Very poor matchup. Magee was really exposed in a deadly dull fight with Reid. Vanderpool, Kessler even Etchols, are all streets ahead of Magee. There are two dozen better fights out there for Calzaghe than this.
Joe's lost the plot basically and the moment has now passed for him to make any impact on the world stage. Its a shame but he's a bit of an irrelevance now.

This fight will be as bad to watch as it looks on paper.
With the critism that Calzaghe seems to get more of each day it seems an almost suicidal fight to take.
They insult the Irish by expecting them to expect anything of this fight, they are exploiting their patriotism into getting them to buy a seat there which will cost them more than if it was only Magee headlining there.
Terrible terrible match up, that is only going to hurt Calzaghe.

froch and witter appearing on undercard
Looks like they will appear on the PPV. Witter looks like getting N'dou, no opponent named for Froch yet.
This is looking better and better, if all three get exposure it's a fantastic opportunity. Let's hope Froch and Witter don't have a mare.

Yeah, I'll bet 1,00000 - ONLY JOKING BY THE WAY. I don't think you will have any takers, because I think all will agree.007 wrote:I am willing to put money on it Calzaghe will not be facing Johnson later this year by the way - any takers?
It won't happen for two reasons.
1) I think Tarver will get the nod next time.
2) Should Johnson win again, he has much more lucarative fights in the pipeline. Lacy vs Johnson would sell well stateside, Johnson vs Jones II (Johnson will get a big payday this time), Johnson vs Braithwaite. All bigger matches in the US.
