A FW fighter backing allegedly- I'm shocked!
Plus there is more chance of Hatton-Khan now that Fwankie is out

... not sure if this lil bit of info could upset you .. but .. Cleverly can also box and put people to sleep(as you put it)jBacca wrote:So our opinions are based on the fact that Tony posts here, and not because he can box and has the power to put people to sleep?tonyevs wrote:I wonder if the same people here who have 100% confidence in Bellew beating Cleverly .. would be just as sure of Cleverly beating Bellew if it was Nathan that posted on the site and not Tony
Come on people. i`m sure I`m not the only one to have noticed(you`d have to be pretty blind not to) but when an active boxer comes on this site ... a certain number of people automatically have an opinion that that guy is the next big thing in British boxing .. sometimes even the world if you read what some people write
Tony Bellew may well be an exciting prospect - he may develop into somebody who can chase for British, european or even world title belts.
But lets be honest. He hasn`t gone past 6rnds as yet. So where are people basing their rock solid assumptions on
I fully expect Warren to get him some title of sorts this year. Bellew is 27yrs old now, so time is very much ticking away. But I don`t really see them being matched up unless either one shows serious limitations.
Cleverly, I`d fully expect, is Warrens new star pupil. He is younger than most of the recent big name signings, looks more solid than kell Brook and more rounded than kevin Mitchell..
Re: great interview with bellew
I didn't say he couldn't, unless you can see something that's not there..?tonyevs wrote:... not sure if this lil bit of info could upset you .. but .. All am saying is, i believe Tony can beat Clev because he genuinely has the tools to do so. Yes Clev is a good boxer, but Bomber can box a little too. Not only that, but say Clev did outclass Bomber and boxed rings around him, Bomber would still have a chance to knock Clev spark out with the power he has.
Bomber may not have been past 6 rounds, but his power is evident regardless.

Re: great interview with bellew
I totally agree with Bellew talking about people sticking to their roles. It always amazes me when I hear Freddy Roach being interviewed and he says things like "We will do the fight against this guy but not against that guy, and we'll take a 60/40 split but we won't take 50/50, we could do a 65/45 but only if it's in this arena and wears those colour shorts" !!! He is clearly a good trainer but he should stick to training and let each boxers manager, manage him and his promoter, promote him.

jBacca: Not sure if its worth me wasting my time discussing things with you? .. but take a look at Cleverlys record .. your reason to favour Tony Bellew could just as easilly fit the argument for Cleverly ... he too has looked heavy handed lately you know..

Re: great interview with bellew
I do like Bellew but I think Cleverly beats him, I really beleive Clev can go onto world honours he looks absoulote quality
Re: great interview with bellew
not a lot of people have seen bellew fight so you can't really judge him, I've seen 4 or 5 times and he's gonna go all the way, I'd like to see him fight oakey before cleverly but I'd be confedent of him beating cleverly if they fought next
Re: great interview with bellew
If you want to compare the power of the two, then Bomber is in a world of his own. Not only that, his chin is solid too. Is Clev's ..??tonyevs wrote:hurlock wrote:if clev came on here id give it too him about them john mcririck pork chops :!:llamalew wrote: x2

at this moment, Cleverly would be the clear favourite to win. Bellew is totally untested - as Tony himself would probably admit.

You seem to think i've completely written Clev off in a fight with Tony, but that's not the case at all, all am saying is Tony has the tools to beat Clev.

Re: great interview with bellew
cleverly is a good boxer and has shown so far he has allot of skill, but people shouldnt be getting carried away with him. hes fought 1 and i mean only 1 good fighter in oakey. (who took the fight on 3weeks notice)
mclintosh was a complete novice, fry fought 3 fights in 2 years previous to there meeting. not exactly tested like every1 makes out is he.
for me bellew k.o.s cleverly. thats just my opinion by the way but i dont know why people keep going on about cleverly as tho hes fought any1 of note. sure he has the potential to go far but we wont know till some 1 who can stand his ground and have a fight faces him.
for me bellew will k.o him in 4 rounds, bellew hits harder than any l.heavy in the u.k (and by a country miles as well) and lets not forget vegas had cleverly down twice. i was at the fight and cleverly was very lucky to go away with the victory. not allot of people had cleverly winning on that day. now every fighter has his bad day before any1 sais that but if vegas a non puncher can hurt cleverly than am sure bellew who hits harder than 90% of cruiser weights, can hurt cleverly who has come up from s.middle.
cleverly has experience and hand speed over bellew.
bellew has power and a better chin. (never been legitimately down as an amateur ,pro, or in a spar)
bellew needs some rounds under his belt as he has only ever gone 6 once. but saying that its not his fault if hes getting fighters out of there early, you dont get paid for over time in this game. and lets not forget bellew has fought some of the best fighters around the world as an amateur so he has picked up good experience in that sence.

Re: great interview with bellew
Cheers for the feedback guys. Much appreciated.
On the horizon are interviews with Ste Jennings and Brett Flournoy.
Hopefully I'll be speaking with David Price and the returning Mark Moran before their fights in March as well.
Once again, thanks.
