Actually, Victor Baranov drew him into the sport and then Spud drove him into the wall, literally; but that is a story for another day.

Macho!!!
You really are about 8 years behind the scene pal!!
The Victor Baranov saga came out on the forum a good 8 years ago - and as for driving him into a wall literally - again you need to bring yourself up to date with the FACTS too - It happened on 8 Jul 00 - the morning after Victor sprang a surprise defeat against a promising South African boxer at the time called Lawrence Ngobeni. I had to get Victor to Heathrow Airport so he could get back to Moscow - we got up late so I had to drive like a mad man - car span out of control in Holloway - I was very lucky how I managed not to take a load of cars out is a bloody miracle - but a BT wires box and some railings on the opposite side of the road got a bit of punishment.
Anyhow now that has come out for its "hundreth" revelation we can get back to discussing the issues surrounding what this thread is about - the different view points concerning whether Paul Smith is a world class boxer or a domestic class title holder who is going no further.
Or perhaps we could discuss who you really are - you come out with some interesting posts about the training side of things just like "KG" does - in addition you seem to be quite up to date with the manchester scene - again just like KG - however unlike KG your posts are a lot less tiresome!!!

even mguigan.
considering you are on the scene circuit etc. it's suprising you can be so outspoken, but your intitled to your opinions & if im being honest i enjoy them

Spud mate, you seem to have the same illness Horse has...in that you really think your opinion matters :)Spud wrote:I completely agree - he offers his answers in a perfectly sensible way - dont have a problem with that at all - I also know Paul Smith as a person is highly thought of by many people throughout boxing - He writes well and I enjoy reading his subtle digs contained in certainly one of his responses.Counter-puncher wrote:stujones wrote:i think smith's come across really well here
Finally I sincerely hope Paul Smith - might as well include Tony Jefferies in that as well - prove me wrong and go on further than domestic honours although I will stress I do not see anything bad in having earnt the right to hold aloft the Lonsdale Belt - the likes of Smith and Jefferies have to get used to people offering their opinions and just because someone like myself doesnt think they will go beyond domestic level doesnt mean I am being abusive in anyway - in fact I have in a couple of posts offered my reasons why I do not think so. Its absolutely ridiculous that just because a boxer comes on here we have to grovel and if we dont we get metioned in interviews as being abusive or words similar as if they are some sort of victims of an internet campaign.
I think Smigga came across well, he usually does to be fair, so does Arnie. At least they take the time to respond.
Been an interesting read this thread (at times!)
