Stevens, along with Jaidon Codrington, was labelled a 'chin checker' by NY promoter Lou Dibella when he turned pro. I have lost touch with his more recent progress but I think a fight with Brinkley could turn out to be an absolute cracker. Nice spot diggler

Why didnt they have boxing on their 'Free to Air' weekend?
I am not paying more money to subscribe to ESPN.

It should help with more streams anyway, I know of a guy who streams all UK Boxing and he might do this.

DG, even you cannot complain about that 'Free to Air' weekend, mate!
Milan Derby + Boca Jnrs vs River Plate + Best of UFC 2009 + more.
ESPN is awesome. If you like US college sports (I know most of you won't), ESPN360 is worth getting online. 90 odd quid a year for a sleigh load of College Football and Basketball. I love it.
Best of UFC would have been good - Football? NO!!

Good news from ESPN, and what! People still moaning about them. We ask for more boxing so they have begun to deliver and then the next thing is people ask about streaming????
If we want more boxing on tv we need to support this type of scheduling.
Does anyone know if you sky plus something whether it counts towards the ratings?

They've shown FNF pretty much since they came on air, presumably because it doesn't cost them anything to show it over here. Saying they have 'begun to deliver' is a bit premature I think.ourkid1984 wrote:Good news from ESPN, and what! People still moaning about them. DG i was merley just saying that there are clearly plenty of people who can afford to get ESPN and still those people will say that they don't do enough or just rather watch a awful picture on a stream.
I wonder what people did before we had internet streams? I'm sure there would be plenty enough pressure for tv channels to provide the public what they want.
Chrisfinch, I do realise that they have been showing ESPN'S FFN since they came on air in this country but as far as I know this is the first time they have shown one live and again it is so easy for people to find out boxing results immediatly that they won't want to see a replay of a fight if they have already seen the result.
I might be wrong about if this is the first one ESPN have shown live but in my opinion it's good either way and I don't care that they may only be showing boxing because it's cheap to do so.

If ESPN match the quality of SETANTA I will cancel SKY ( again) and get ESPN....until then...ourkid1984 wrote:DG i was merley just saying that there are clearly plenty of people who can afford to get ESPN and still those people will say that they don't do enough or just rather watch a awful picture on a stream.
I am cancelling the lot once this season ends!

Friday Night Fights (ESPN)
There was a live edition of this on British ESPN last night, was a decent quality fight aswell, a lot better than the Sky Friday Night Fight I endured a few hours before.
Just posting because I was trying to get on to alert a few people to it and internet kept crashing.
Could be an idea to keep your eyes open for any ESPN 'surprises' in the future if they want to spring them on us like this with no publicity or forwarning!

Really enjoyed that fight, watched it a few hours after whilst eating my breakfast saturday morning. Its looks recently like ESPN are going to show FNF live (at 3am) every week.

Cheers mate.
It does seem to be a problem every week with ESPN, the schedules get changed almost on a daily basis!
