I know Bomber Graham was a brilliant fighter but never won the world title but can you guys give me some more names of British fighters who were world class but never won a world title, cheers

A good honest fighter, but world class? He got flattend in both attempts.

Another world class fighter was kirkland Laing, but he never had the desire or determination.

Colin Jones would have easily been world champion in todays state of the game, but he also was very close in the 80's.

Errol Christie had the skills but no chin.

Michael Brodie....not over yet though.

Billy Hardy was very unlucky to lose a split decision in his hometown to world champ Orlando Canizalez. Shows what a puncher Naz was to take him out so easily a few years later.

They weren't GREATS, but The likes of Chris Eubank, Joe Calzaghe, Michael Watson and Ricky Hatton all have/had the ability to at least have won titles.

Sorry but WBO/WBU don't count.

I think it just puts things into perspective about the state of affairs in today's game when you realise that guys like Henry Cooper, Jock McAvoy, Tony Sibson etc could never call themselves World Champions and we just had a relative novice in Steve Foster Jnr win that WBU thing

Disagree with John, he was unlucky in a WBO title fight against a fighter who came in on 48 hours notice. I would call John Davidson world class, probably on the fringes.

A fighter who had the talent just lacked that something and I think does belong here is David Starie.

Dean Francis is another certainty, but never had the world title fight.
