WELLIVER vs. Wilson... Sign me up!

Post by Chauncy »

Hey all.

I seen the Wilson vs. Whitehead fight is off now. As much as I was looking forward to that fight, I am kinda happy. I would love a fight with Wilson, and should Whitehead fight for the vacant Aussie title, Wilson has no obligations to fight anybody.
I know there will be plenty of people who would rather see Wilson fight somebody else, and that's cool, but he is in the WBO Asia Pacific rankings and would make a great fight with me.
A win over me means more to him than anybody else in the Pacific ratings wise.
Our styles mix great and I would love this fight, and I would go to Aussie for the challenge.
Or, if no Aussie promoter can make it happen, maybe we can find a New Zealand promoter to do it, and because he was born there, we can throw my NZ title on as well.

But, everybody has been telling me to get to Aussie for a fight, and I accept, as I said, if we can get a promoter for it.

Sign me up for either place. :box:

Anybody have a contact for Colin or his promoter? I would love to get the ball rolling so when he is off his injury we can do this. :OhYes:
If anybody can help get this together it is greatly appreciated.

Did anyone watch the Wilson Leapai replay last night?

You really think the 35-25 Wilson is the next step in your career???

Colin is out due to an accident at work, he is having MRI in Brisbane today to determine the extent of the injury, when he is fit he will be fighting Whitehead for the Australian title, he does not want to vacate it and fight as the challeneger when he returns
Whithead will now fight 6 rounds against Isikeli Ma'ama who will be out here as Shane Camerons sparring partner

Ma'ma has had 2 x 4 rounders. He KOed Pati and outpointed Ulutoa.

Perhaps he is a little overmatched here?

I saw Ma'ma last fight against Ulutoa and dint think much of him.If he went over 4 rounds i think he would have trouble.

LOL man...he jumped in with Solis and lasted what, 4 times longer than Monte Barrett? He never even hit the canvas vs the Olympic Gold Medalist. That's jumping in with a legitimate top 10 right there and a guy better than every single HW from NZ or Ausieland. Tua vs Cameron was the NZ fight of the century but it was a glow worm compared to the grand finale that would have been put on with Welliver vs Tua. 1 of the names down that way need to sign on the dotted line and I don't care who it is, they are not going to be the best guy Chauncy has ever faced and that includes Mr. Tuaman Tua.

Yes, he's the best Native American HW. I was watching 1 of his fights in NZ though and the commentators were calling him that because he asked to be called that.

In decent shape for me at the moment. I'm 117.1kg today.
As kronk said, sign me up for any of the top 10 WBO Asia Pacific fighters. With Colin being the Aussie champ, it makes for a great promotion when he gets well. Mirovic, Hoppa, Leapai, Haumono, sign me up. :bag:

If your in good shape why don't you take on the IRON RHINO Michael Kirby as HOPPA'S pulled out you don't have to put your title on the line if you think your so skilled it should be easy money for you.

To be honest, wouldnt really matter unless the title was on the line. If they can get him approved somehow, don't know their relationship with WBO, I would be more than willing.
I have tried to get him as an opponent for WBO fight but they shot it down. Maybe his team has more pull??? :-?
And I never said I was skilled.
If I was we wouldn't be talking about Wilson as a "step up"!

Like i say you don't have to fight him for a title just fight him that will give you exposure here in OZ if you win like SOLO beat him he became number ONE with that win now that would be a respectable win and i spoke to him and he's more than happy to accept the fight ,so just ring the promoter his number will be on the schedule.

Mate do you have selective reading  The Iron Rhino just offered Chauncy a fight before that date in Australia, now Chauncy is as fit as he can be, so there should be no excuses, right? and you return fire with Come to Auckland, Bledisloe cup, and taunting that Kirby wont fight him ect........ he just offered him a fight????

It's in Chauncys court here.

Theres a couple of Australians fighting in Auckland on Feb 26.

Have seen on other topics that Kirby had no interest in Chauncy. Was stating that on March5th they are having OZ V Kiws so thought great way to get the fight on.

I spoke to THE IRON RHINO and Kirby's very interested in showing the people what Chauncy's worth so stop hiding behind your title and have a go Kirby's not interested in the title he's only interested in you.

It's been going longer than the last couple of threads, it's been going on for about a year and half, you don't need a title for this fight, just a little TV exposure and good crowd :TU: No offence to either of the fighters, but neither one is a champion in there own country, so why would a title be needed.

Chauncy was offered to fight Kirby recently in Townsville however Chauncy is contracted to spar in Germany and the fight fell within his contracted time in Germany so it was impossible to do. Boxing is all about timing when putting fights together im confident this fight will happen, it would be nice if Kirby put some wins together and we could make this fight a proper spectacle with a big regional title onboard which would launch the winner into the world rankings, its almost pointless doing it over 10 rounds in a non-title bout.

Fighting is all about entertainment, it seems like you are hiding behind this 'Get som more wins under your belt' and 'Lets make it worthwile/for the title' shtick.

The title you're talking about is a regional WBO title and is't worth shyte, some one has put a challange to you, just like you have to a seriously injured old man(Collin Wilson) and it is either a yes or no answer. obviously the answer to Micheal Kirby is no. So perhaps it is time to show a little bit of humility and stop trying to score points of this mans name.
