Getting a Boxing related gift - what to get??

Alright chaps, cheeky question if I may.

My 40th is coming up and the missus wants to spend a cpl/few hundred quid on getting me something boxing related.

To be honest, apart from some books there's nothing I really wish for, she asked if I wanted her to buy me some memorabilia or rare books, or something.

Any ideas what would be worth getting with a few hundred to spend?

I have a framed glove signed by Mike Tyson. Have not got a clue how much it cost though.

How about a selection of your favourite ever fights or the career of your favourite fighters?
A few years ago my old girl got me a dozen DVDs from a chap who advertises in Boxing News/Monthly(I forget which)with all my favourite fights on, footage of my favourite fighters etc. Duran, Hearns, Eubank-Benn, Morales-Barrera trilogy, Lewis career, Hagler career, Robinson fights, Salvador Sanchez fights etc etc etc.
Still watch them regularly. Money well spent.

Of course, you could always let her make her own mind up and end up with the life story of Amir Khan or at home with the Hattons! I should never have let my gf think for herself!

Cheers yiddo - with Vids, I've pretty much downloaded all I want to from another well known forum.

Photos may be a good idea, I've had my pic taken with a few boxers over the last year+, incl' Mayweather and Marquez when they were in London, and I met John Conteh recently and got a photo with him. So I might start a Boxing photo/pic wall in one of the rooms at home, so photos would be cool.

But I just feel with photos I could get some good ones on Google and just blow them up.

What about signed gloves, shorts or robes? Theres a signed Tommy Hearns robe that I had my eye on for a while but it's a bit out of my price range.

For signed stuff it's much cheaper to get a flight out to the states or wait for them to do after dinner speaking here and get them to sign it themselves.
Then at least you know it is genuine, and thats what folk do, get them to sign stuff and then ebay it at inflated prices

ive got signed fotos of gatti ward dual signed, hatton, joe frazier, lennox lewis, jake lamotta varying in price, think lennox was themost expensive at 130 quid but gatti may obviously now be more ....................

pretty cool as well, get em framed and they look ace.

May i suggest a Queensbury Travel gift voucher.

That way the missus will get to spend the money but you will get to decide exactly what you want and you won't have to decide in advance.

There are a few merchandise items in the shop but you might want to wait until an event comes along that you want a piece of (maybe Kessler v Froch or Haye v Ruiz) and upgrade your tickets/hotel etc to it's full value.

Some of the older 1st edition boxing books are a good idea. They are a great source of information(not always correct though) and they will keep their value atleast. And look great on the book shelf.

I started my collection a few years ago. I started by getting all titles by Nat Fleischer ... I have almost a complete collection, apart from some of his latter ones he merely lent his name to.
Some titles cost a silly amount when 1st purchased ... but looking at the prices they can go for now I realise they can be an investment .. prime example is buying a complete set of Boxiana some years ago for about 15hundred quid ... and now they can reach anything upto 4-5grand
