EARNIE SHAVERS (record details in autobiography...)

Post by phil »

Hi all.

Back from getting married in the Bahamas. Read Shavers' book and have the following queries...............

He says that his last fight of 1969 was on the 27th December against Bill Wilson........and that it was his 8th fight in 7 weeks totalling 20 rounds..??

Richard Gosha was 22-9 (according to Shavers) prior to their bout)

The first Jimmy Young fight was over in the 3rd according to Shavers, though the 1st in the record section.

He states Harry Terrell was 10-4 prior to their fight

I noticed that Ed Porette (or which ever the correct spelling is) needs to be amended to SHOW the correct spelling. There seem to be more the a couple of variations (Parotte. Porette, Edmund, Eddie etc)

His record shows a fight against Phil Clinard on 14 October 1982 (Clinard 0-3 on boxrec)...anybody shed any light on this?

Apparently, Tony Perea was 13-0 prior to their fight (boxrec shows 11-0)

Have tried to add Nevada State Heavyweight Title to Duncan match and also Ohio State Heavyweight Title to Gullick match....no can do.

I look forward to any comments/clarifications/help on the above

cheers
Phil

jimmy young was KOd in the 3rd, that is correct.

all the records used to state that anyway, i dont know why it suddenly changed to a 1sr round KO.
