This bill looked good at the start:

Williams v Sexton
Brook v Jennings
Chisora v Skelton
Mitcheell v TBA

It a shame the fights have fallen through.

I have tickets for this show and emailed FWs office to ask for a refund. They replied stating that no refund would be possible and that tickets are sold on a "subject to change" basis.

I did reply to say there is a major difference between "subject to change" and a whole bill changing but they're standing firm.

In fairness the guy I emailed did say if a wrote in with a formal complaint then they could "consider other options" but I've not bothered to pursue this.

My view on this is I've been let down many times by various FW promotions so from now on will not buy tickets for any of his shows.

Chisora v Baker may be entertaining for a couple of rounds but it no way makes up for what was advertised when tickets first went on sale.

To some extent I agree that it's not the promoters fault if boxers pull out but in this instance it's the scale of pull outs that have really annoyed me - that and the fact other FW promotions have had similar problems.

My personal view is that with FW promotions, buying tickets in advance when a show is first advertised is a major gamble -more so than with other promoters.

The old adage is "buyer beware" and in this case (and others) I've had my fingers burnt and will no longer take the gamble.

The problem is that this happen's time after time with his shows. Maybe he's unlucky :( But I won't be buying tickets again until the week before from now on. If it means missing big fights but avoiding poor, over-priced cards that have been decimated then so be it.

Wathcing the Prizefighter for £30 (with no booking or delivery fees I might add) at the York Hall later that month seems excellent value in comparrison.

So did I, I bet Chisora regrets pulling out of the Skelton fight now.

Chisora early KO

Please tell me this is not the headline fight by default? Or is it Clevelly for the euro title?

Pull-outs happen and there is nothing promoters can do but it seems like the norm for a Warren card to change completely from when its announced and the tickets go on sale to fight night. Refunds should certainly be offered when the bill changes so dramatically and the replacement fights are not of the same calibre.

Williams-Sexton
Chisora-Skelton
Brook-Jennings

All potentially good fights that fans would pay to see that are now not happening.

I got royally screwed over when i bought a couple of Row A tickets for a card of his in Nottingham.

The main event was Skelton v Harrison or Williams, cant remember exactly but anyway, the fight got pulled.

Then Khan was made the headliner...and his euro-bum Latvian lasted all of 56 seconds of round 1.

Then to cap it all, it wasn't row A.... there was about 14 rows in front of me and a bloody barrier as all the WAGs sat there.

Giving Hennessy his dues, the Row A's he sells are literally that - ROW A and you sit 4ft from the ropes.

MachoMan09 wrote:It is not W-arren's fault that the fighters have pulled out. I respect the promoter's right to the 'subject to change' clause. Fight promotion is hard enough as it is. If they had to cancel shows/offer refunds whenever a fighter on a card withdrew before the first bell, there would barely be any shows at all.
I think the problem with this particular scenrio is the quality of replacement, and ammount of changes - basically every fight announced off*. If Chisora and Baker were promoted by a lesser promoter their fight would be nothing more than a heavyweight undercard scrap at a Leisure centre. Brook Jennings has been replaced by Cleverlys euro title shot, thats decent enough, but I can see the frustrations when people pay their hard earned wedge for an apple, and they end up with a turnip.

*The likes of the olympians and vinny mitchell were on the card, but at first their opponents were unknown.

It's not FWs fault if boxers get injured in training or fall ill? Let's get some perspective on that..

However;
I do agree that if the main fight of a show has been changed then refunds should be given as that is the main selling point. You wouldn't buy a cinema ticket to go see Raging Bull, to then be told by the cinema they have replaced Raging Bull with My Little Pony Adventures cartoon? Or buy a ticket to your teams football FA Cup match to then go see 2 different teams you don't want to watch play a league game?

Chisora vs Baker, this is a fair match up as far as who they deserve to be fighting, Chisora deserves no more then someone of Bakers standing on paper. Not saying Baker will win it, but by beating Williams, he's done more on paper then Chisora.

Chisora wins by stoppage before 6.

He hasn't - he stopped a novice who then went on to grow into a commonwealth champ and apart from that standing stoppage win over Sexton almost 2 years ago, Chisora has fought push overs / journeymen and hasn't been tested since.. It is clear that the Sam Sexton of today has displayed more growth then Chisora since their fight and has risen to be the top domestic HW fighter around. Sexton having 6 fights since, for the Southern Area title win, the Prizefighter win and 2 Commonwealth title battles in the hostile Belfast.. Chisora has fought a past it Lee Swaby as his best name since and not even for a title.

I look forward to Chisora getting tested in some good match ups. I'd like to see him fight McDermott for the English or Rogan next before he gets a sniff at the British Title, how about Dallas? They have had about the similar number of fights and around the same level of opposition recently.

Done more? Maybe, but realistically we all know if this fight was announced 6 months ago everyone would see it as just another cannon fodder type record builder for chisora... and I dont think baker has got any better in the last 6 months he just ran inot a "big" fighter at the right time.

I think one of the things that leeves such a sour taste in the mouth when boxing cards like this fall apart is the fact that you have paid so much.

An average seat is more than £50 and you will pay at least 3 or 4 quid booking fee on top.

I have long thought most boxing events are overpriced. I suppose there must be people that pay it. However I am no longer prepared too.

The haye tickets in manchester are another example. £25 to sit in a different post code to the ring LOL!! A night it looks likely there will be very little on the undercard.

Danny Williams is out, Tyson Fury is out, Matt Skelton is out, Michael Sprott is out, Amir Khan is out, Matt Macklin is out, Lord Lucan is out - everyone is out but for “The Fridge” - fully stocked and ready to take on Derek “Del Boy” Chisora in a 10-round British heavyweight title eliminator at Wembley on February 13.
The massive Baker, who nearly gave up boxing a few years ago due to lack of fights (just 13 to date), obviously secured this opportunity by default but deserves it after flooring and outpointing Williams in Prizefighter last October, flooring Williams twice, in fact, the British heavyweight champion going in - and, incredibly, going out. The champ should really have been stripped; Baker had said he would lick Danny when Mike Tyson, making the draw, poured scorn on anyone facing a man who had beaten him - and Baker disproved Tyson and indeed licked Danny.
The 28-year-old Sheffield man took something out of himself in doing so, however, and was then closely outscored by useful Irishman Coleman Barrett in the semi-finals of the event. Carl is rested, now, a late substitute, yes, and probably not in the best of fighting shape, but Chisora never looks in the best of shape either. I am yet to be convinced by the fleshy Finchley prospect.
Chisora, a former ABA champion with 11 wins out of 11, is quick and sharp but looks lackadaisical at times, as if ‘seriously’ is not in his dictionary, and it will be interesting to see how he copes with the sheer bulk of Baker, although Chisora holds an excellent six-round stoppage of Sam Sexton, the reigning Commonwealth heavyweight king, and will surely prefer the blubbery Baker to the other names previously mentioned.
Ultimately, he will want to beat the man who beat the man. Williams, to remind you, still holds the British title.
Chisora boxes his way to a decision.

I disagree with your tip Bennie, well Chisora will win but I think he will surely KO the fridge. Especially if this is an 8 rounder.

What's equally annoying is that this could have been the start of Saturday Night non PPV boxing..... but I cannot imagine it being a ratings winner. Neither Chisora or the Fridge look the part and I'm sorry, but that has a major impact on the "lay" fans who might just tune in down the pub on Saturday night.... they won't be interested in two fattys - even if it is a barnstormer.

Cleverly, although impressing, just lacks that spark needed - he might go all the way, but so did Witter and he couldn't get fights.

I think its British title eliminator so 10 rounds. For this being on Saturday night its a very poor bill, looked good at the start.

I'd be shocked if Baker could skip or shadowbox for 3 rounds, never mind win a 10 rounder. He'll beat himself with his lack of fitness. The 5 stone lighter and reasonably limited Coleman Barrett showed what the fridge is all about more than the Williams fight did. FW honestly would have been better off scrapping the heavyweight bout completely rather than serving up this muck.
