I dont know anything about their prices, but if you havent booked hotel yet I would choose Scandic hotel. Is right next to the train/bustation + 5 min walk to the pubs. My second choise would be Hotel Eyde.

3 of us goin from manchester on thursday to copenhagen then traveling to herrning on the saturday, anyone who aint got rooms in herrning hurry up i strugled to find availability in central herning or near the massecentre its self, most were showing up as 12 to 20 miles away from herning centre managed in the end to find a self service room close but there were only 4 rooms left and was only available off there website not on any comparison sites.
found this strange tho as its ment to be the biggest convention centre in scandanavia thought there would be a few more hotels.
gonna get the train from copenhagen on the saturday with a few tinnys im sure the 3 and half hour journey will fly by.

The danish railway company have something called "orange" ticket. THe price for them is less than half of the regular ticket. They go on sale 2 months before the traveldate. They only have limited amount of tickets on each departure.

Just a word of warning as soon as i heard Herning was confirmed i contacted the promoter to ask why they hadn't told me as they had promised and they said that Herning is still not confirmed. There is a possibility that it might end up in Germany to appease Froch's travel concerns.

How are you getting from Herning to Billund? Not sure there is any public transport on Sunday morning.

All i can add is that my source is as legit as you get.

The Best Western hotel is FULL now and the remaining 6 or 7 are full if not almost already.

People already commuting across from Copenhagen may get doubled-shafted when they cannot get a room for the night.

Think about it.. Herning is a market town which has a population of 45,000 people.

That particular weekend your going to get another 12,500 people to watch this fight, plus all the support crews, staff and associated production teams flying in. Sure plenty will drive from their homes in the vicinity, but that still will be a lot of people wanting rooms.

Here's the hotels that google finds, maybe there are a couple at best that are not shown, plus a couple of B&B's..but this is your lot :-

I have been told by an insider that many of the bookings have been by agencies that probably will resell them at a higher price.

FC Midtjylland, who play in Herning in the Danish Superliga, are also at home to FC Copenhagen (who play at the Parken) that evening (I think kick-off is at 5pm).

I don't know what the Danes are like for following their football teams away, but that could mean more pressure on hotel rooms, particularly if Copenhagen fans stay over to watch the fight. Doubt many would fancy a 4-hour drive back to Copenhagen after midnight.

Good point Gobbles.

It all adds up to a very stressful time for getting accommodation indeed.

Says on the club website it is Saturday at 5pm. Of course, if it was Sunday that would seem to point to even more people watching the fight and staying over, especially as Kessler is from Copenhagen. Imagine if Froch was fighting in Plymouth and Forest were playing away there that weekend.

I really want to go to this fight, it's the best fight announce this year, but the more I look into flights, connections and hotels, the more it just fills me with dread. I'm still holding out hope that it gets moved to Copenhagen. The Tivoli (the huge theme park and beer garden in the middle of Copenhagen) will be open for summer then, Herning's biggest attraction seems to be some indoor amusement arcade called Baboon City!

Internal flight from Copenhagen to Karup or Billund is about £40.

same here - this is turning into a very un-amusing farce. i mean how can you get into such a ridiculous situation where you have no venue confirmed for a major event like this only 8 weeks away. people have to sort out tickets, flights, accomodation and everything is up in the air, the fans are being kept in the dark and relying on internet rumours instead of anything official.
If this was a big US fight there would be a major promotional push behind what should be a massive bout and we would be getting all the info we need to make arrangements. what a joke.
