Setanta not showing Witter fight?

Post by lirva33 »

Well it seems setanta are starting at 2am.

The Eastman fight is starting around 2.30-3am by my calculations which leaves no time for Witter.

I AM NOT BUYING IF THERE IS NO WITTER FIGHT

Let's figure this out lads. Will Witter be shown? I can't see Hennessy buying all this and NOT putting Witter on setanta... but weirder things have happened.

Televised schedule subject to change.

Setanta responded to my email to day to confirm only Hopkins and Taylor fights will form part of their coverage.

I've pushed further but no response.

I would, if I can see what it says. There is an asterix there but can't read it.

It says 12 clearly on that poster, but its 2.00 according to the Sky guide.

I'm getting confused there using hbo broadcasting which is only showing 2 fights Hopkins vs Eastman and Taylor. but on setanta website it says there will be the main event plus 3 supporting fights and talking about witter, Mick Hennesay said on his website “I must stress, however, that nothing is 100% confirmed until that happens. In the event that anything does go wrong, we have another quality opponent on standby, so either way Junior should be appearing in a high profile contest that will be shown exclusively live on Setanta PPV1, Sky channel 435.”

Whats going on Mick Hennesay says witter will be live, there using hbo broadcasting but there only showing 2 fights and on setanta website they said there is 3 supporting fights.

Help whats happening

I don't think you should buy it anyway lirva - you need to save your pennies for the bet

N'dou hadn't signed at the time it was announced, but it looks likely. Whether or not it's N'dou, Witter will appear on the bill. There will be supporting fights, but that doesn't mean they will neccesarily appear on the coverage. Maybe it is dependent on how long the other fights go.

Its N'Dou. I spoke to him from his Los Angeles hotel suite last night.

I think there are a couple of very minor points to resolve, but he's there for the fight and very, very keyed up.

Interview should be live tonight or tomorrow at thesweetscience.com

When the Witter fight was announced in America it was as part of the non-televised bouts, If Setanta are using the feed direct from the US network then i don't suppose it will be televised

great name my friend.

If the HBO feed is coming (and that's all), WE KNOW that Witter WILL NOT be shown. Because he isn't on US TV.

Sooo, since they are advertising FROCH (We know he won't be shown), we can also presume that Witter mightn't be shown either.

Yet, Hennessie says Witter will be on. And if he isn't on, Hennessie looks pretty stupid. Put Witter in a good fight and don't televise it... very smart.

We need some clarification.

Just been on the box office it starts at 2.00am and doesn't go off until 5.30. thats over 3 hours which is a long time. Eastman starts at 2.30ish there might be 2 live fights and show highlights of witter and froch after the Hopkins vs Eastman and Taylor vs Edouard.

Yeah I checked yesterday on Sky box office and it's a 2am start...which, you'd guess, means no Witter fight.
I'm away Sat night, but I was still thinking of buying it, recording it and watching Sunday afternoon.
( Anything but having to watch the 5 min clip on Grandstand )

But if it's only the Hop fight plus Taylor, well I might just watch the Sunday Beeb show instead ( tell me it's an hour at least??!! )

Witter fight will DEFINITELY be shown on Setanta - according to a source very close to the Witter camp.
