Post by ArtOfWar »

Has anyone clicked on the link to the IQ site on the right hand side of the page?

I scored 120.

Take the test, and post your score:

Rushed it a bit, but not too bad...

James, your Super IQ score is 125

Your overall intelligence quotient is the result of a scientifically-tested formula based on how many questions you answered correctly. But it's only part of what we learned about you from your answers on the test. We also determined the way you process information.

The way you think about things makes you a Creative Theorist. This means you are a highly intelligent, complex person. You are able to process information of nearly every kind with ease, using both creativity and analysis to make sense of the world. Compared to others you also have a very rich imagination.

"Your Super IQ score is 131

Your overall intelligence quotient is the result of a scientifically-tested formula based on how many questions you answered correctly. But it's only part of what we learned about you from your answers on the test. We also determined the way you process information.

The way you think about things makes you a Complex Intellectual. This means you are highly intelligent and have extraordinarily strong verbal and math skills. Compared to others you are a highly conceptual and complex thinker and are able to understand information in an abstract form. You also show great attention to detail. In fact, it's hard to find something you're not good at.

How did we determine that your thinking style is that of a Complex Intellectual? When we examined your test results further, we analyzed how you scored on 8 dimensions of intelligence: spatial, organizational, abstract reasoning, logical, mechanical, verbal, visual and numerical. The 3 dimensions you scored highest on combine to make you a Complex Intellectual. Only 6 out of 1,000 people have this rare combination of abilities
."

As Stu says, it's complete bollocks. I mean 131? That's tragically low compared to past tests. Isn't 131 fairly average? I guess I should put down my copy of "The fly, and the fly bottle", throw away my Bach cds, and resign myself to a life of Viz and 50 cent.

Still, it could be worse. I went back and answered every question as badly as I could manage. I still achieved an 88. Just look at what Forrest Gump achieved with a similar score. There could still be hope.

But it's only part of what we learned about you from your answers on the test. We also determined that you are a transvestite who wants to be 'vicar' to the cross-dressing, lesbian marriage of Howard Eastman and Bernard Hopkins this coming Sunday in San Francisco.

"The way you think about things makes you a Conceited Fuckwit. This means you are highly intelligent and have extraordinarily strong verbal and cunninglingus skills. Pretty accurate, IMO.

As I said 100-110 is the average so 120 is good.

Yes, its your namesake. Mr 1984.

The was once an article saying that these folks in the area of Russia were thick (and this was in a scientific journal).

Why were they classified thick? Because they had a low IQ score.

Why did they have a low IQ score? Because they misinterpreted the question.

For example

One question.

Name the odd one out - Hammer / Saw / Axe / Log

The "correct" answer is Log (all the rest are tools).

ALL of the participants from this area went for Hammer (Because the other three are involved in cutting up logs).

Its not just the misinterpretation of question, but a shit load of other flaws that lessens the validity.

Soren, your Super IQ score is 113

Your overall intelligence quotient is the result of a scientifically-tested formula based on how many questions you answered correctly. But it's only part of what we learned about you from your answers on the test. We also determined the way you process information.

The way you think about things makes you an Original Thinker. This means you're a naturally abstract thinker. You pick up visual detail that others routinely miss. You're also very good at making connections that don't already exist, and you have your own ideas of how the world works. While your talents matter greatly in real life, they are sometimes overlooked in less thorough intelligence tests.

How did we determine that your thinking style is that of an Original Thinker? When we examined your test results further, we analyzed how you scored on 8 dimensions of intelligenc

I winged it and got 126. I guessed several, but knew most of the wordy-type questions. That's the best IQ score I've ever got, but, fornicate me, my brain hurt.

:D:D

I was just thinking abstractly of trying to use an 8-dimensional hammer to try to cut up a log, but then I opted for a rolling pin instead - since both are made of wood (witches are, too, but that's for another thread ;)), that is the logically correct choice. I'm such a feckin' creative out-of-box-thinking supergenius, I make myself sick...think I'll go into String Theory, start talking about myself in the third (or maybe the eighth) person, and get PBS to give me a self-promoting show, called The Elegant Universal Woodsman.

Wouldn't place too much store in IQ tests. I've known some people who would be right up near the top yet couldn't tie their shoelaces together. How do you define intelligence anyway?

But a log can not cut a log, hence they are wrong even using your explanation/reasoning. But then I would say that - I scored 133.
Yes, but the question does not ask you that, it's just as valid an answer to say hammer is the odd one out if you're thinking logging.

It has been proven that IQ tests have cultural slants for sure, and that they favour people who have been through an education system which is test based. I've done a few now and always come out between 125-135, but then having gone through a lot of formal education you'd figure that, even if I wasn't a genius, which of course I am.

There's a lot of different kinds of intelligence, the purest form is probably evident in those who are successful in life, something sadly I am not. I One day, I shall rule the world fools!!! muhahahahaha!!!

The Classic IQ Test
tony, your IQ score is 128

You are equipped with a verbal arsenal that enables you to understand complex issues and communicate on a particularly high level. These talents make you a Word Warrior.

Whether or not you recognise it, your vocabulary is your strongest suit -- use it whenever you can. Since your command of words is so great, you are also a terrific communicator -- able to articulate big ideas to just about anyone. Your wordsmithing prowess will also help in artistic and creative pursuits. The power of words translates to fresh ideas off paper too. Since you have so many words at your disposal, you are in a unique position to describe things in an original way, as well as see the future in your mind's eye. In short, your strengths allow you to be a visionary -- able to extrapolate and come up with a multitude of fresh ideas.

Load of bollox there then :TU:

Load of nonsense, but...

pl, your IQ score is 144

Your mind's strengths allow you to think ahead of the game -- to imagine or anticipate what should come next in just about any situation. Because you're equally skilled in the numerical and verbal universes of the brain, you can draw from multiple sources of information to come up with great ideas. The timelessness of your vision and the balance between your various skills are what make you a Visionary Philosopher.

In addition to your strengths in maths and linguistics, you have a knack for matching and anticipating patterns. These skills and your uncanny ability to detect the underlying blueprint of most of life's situations add to your Visionary Philosopher mind. Two philosophers who share the same combination of skills you possess are Plato and Benedict Spinoza.

Bugs, your IQ score is 135

You are gifted with the natural fluency of a writer and the visual and spatial strengths of an artist. Those skills contribute to your creative and expressive mind.

Insightful linguists can take complex concepts and articulate them to just about anyone. You have a gift with words and insight into processes and the way people think. These talents enable you to explain things clearly to people. Helen Keller is a great example of an Insightful Linguist. Blind, deaf and mute, she was still able to put things together in her mind and to understand complex ideas. She could do that because she was able to conceptualise ideas internally. Though she could not literally see, she had the visual and spatial skills necessary to understand patterns on an abstract level. She learned to read, write and ultimately became a writer on issues of social justice.
