Maret was knockedout by Marcel Clay and Angel Estevez on Miami Beach Beach. He drove a taxi cab on Miami Beach after his career. He was involved with a murder, he was convicted of beating a University of Miami student to death with his fists over a dispute about the cab fare. Just goes to show you, you never know if the guy you start fighting with in the street is an ex-pro boxer, if he is, the average guy is dead...that's why it's called assault with a deadly weapon and Maret was just a local clubfighter. The Miami Herald report on his trail listed his pro record as 10-10-1.
