May 7th... Harrison vs Marques? According to boxrec

Yes, on the boxrec schedule Harrison is set to be given the ultimate beating on May 7th. Any truth to this?

I think harrison should rematch Polo first before he does anything. Maybe he wants to cash out on Marquez though? One thing is for sure, he has no chance in hell against Marquez.

Can't blame him really - he should pull out all stops for a Chi fight though.

The fight would be a mismatch anyway. Marquez is far better than Harrison.

Yep, Marquez does everything Medina and Polo did, but better, and hits a lot harder. Marquez went through Medina like a hot knife through soft shite, he's the total package.

Frank Maloney's full of it. Eugene would come right out and say the fight ain't gonna happen but Frank will talk about this and talk about that, and in the end Harrison will defend against someone like Roy Rutherford.

I think they are going to hold out for a fight against In-Jin Chi on home soil, where the baying of the crowd might influence the judges if it's a close fight.

However, I am not convinced Harrison can beat Chi. Chi is incredibly durable (usually), has a very high workrate, and throws more hurtful shots than Harrison, and at times has more variety in his work too. If Chi gets Harrison hurt, you can bet your ass he will do his best to finish the job too, something Polo must rue not doing as he really had Harrison going in the 11th.

I wish they would put judges in fornicating sound proof booths, but that's too much to ask really.

I have changed my opinion dramatically on Harrison over recent fights, if he cannot bully and steamroller his opposition he goes into a shell and a sort of mental meltdown with the only the judges to save him. How ragged did he look against Medina and Polo in the respective late rounds? Like a one dimensional brawler with no where left to go. All this may sound harsh but he can't deal with a Boxer at all i.e. Barrera, Marquez, Morales all beat him. I

I used to give him a chance against Chi, it will be a maul for sure but he looked vulnerable for the first time against Polo and seemed hurt by a couple of punches...i really think if that Harrison turns up he could get stopped by Chi. Also Pacquiao-Harrison is a none starter as well, Pacquiao for me there too. I think Scott is a B level operator and Sports Network know it.

Harrison would get slaughtered by Marquez, and his team know it, problem is the last few fights from Harrison and SN have been a bit of a farse, attendences and dropping and people are loosing faith IMO, if Harrison gets in with Barrera, Pac man, Marquez, Morales he will get murdered, but Chi will fight and Harrison will love that, they know what his level is now if they can stick to that and maybe add the prestigious WBU belt who knows.

i forget, my alphabet title knowledge isnt what it should be. As for Harrison-Chi that is no forgone conclusion either IMO, just because Chi "Loves a tear up" doesn't mean Harrison has a guaranteed win, in fact i pick Chi.

Chris John is WBA Featherweight champion, he is scheduled to defend agaisnt Derrick Gainer in Indonesia on 23 April

The fight is off according "Nacho" Beristain in the Mexican media.
The amount being offered for the Marquez brothers to defend their titles in May is not sufficient.
Both brothers have one fight left on their contracts with Top Rank & they are not happy.
