FW Show at Wembley

Post by MacTavish »

Doors open at 5.30pm - anyone have any idea when the undercard might start? Don't want to get there too early and be waiting around... :shame:

Not sure but as most of the bouts have fallen through I think we'll have a lot of waiting round regardless.

Any idea what the final line up is?

Doors open at 5:30pm could mean pretty much anything.
It MIGHT mean doors open at 5:30pm, and boxing starts a few minutes later when people have had a chance to take their seats.

It could mean that people get let in from 5:30 pm, and boxing starts immediatly (ie , no chance to see the start of the first fight.)

It could mean doors don't actaully open until 6pm, with no action until 7pm or later.

It could mean that people are let in, but they are still setting up cameras etc, so the view of earlier bouts is blocked depending on where you are sitting.

Cut a long story short, it means boo diddly squat. :OhYes:

Quite a few would have been happy to shell out money for the original bill. Its what the sales have been like since the bill changes that would be interesting to see!!

They should put a clause in the contract between Promoter and Purchaser than if the bill does not resemble the ORIGINAL card advertised you can get a full refund.

Feel sorry for the people who paid top money for this.

I feel sorry for the people who bought tickets - because I'm one of them.

My ticket was 40 quid (or will be once I've paid MacTavish) and considering on the night I'll have to shell out for train fare etc I'm wondering if just best to cut losses and not bother going.

Tried for a refund but they spouted the 'subject to change' nonsense.

Mr warren, this is the last time you're getting money out of me.

Me too... I bought the £80 ish tickets as I was expecting the brook jennings classic and the british heavyweight champ square off against his commonwealth equivalent.

Instead I get someone I can't stand (Chisora) taking on someone that can't stand after 3 rounds and is named after the largest of all kitchen appliances. I think I'd rather see Chisora having to punch (and bite) an actual fridge, at least there'd be the risk of a cold once the door jammed open.

I have never been to one but I bet there will be white collar shows that are more entertaining and competitive going on this weekend.

I'm not comparing to any other promoter.

If the number one promoter in the uk puts on a show called the night of champions, having one competitive fight on the card is a pishing joke. Hence the moaning.

It's very average.

I haven't got the spare cash to blow on mundane show like this, can't speak for anyone else.

The Walsh brothers and the Olympians and Mitchell Brothers fights are foregone conclusions (more or less) , the Heavyweights would be a decent support show on a Friday Fight Night card. Cleverley fight looks OK, but nothing special.

Yeah, it's a good Friday Fight Night card at the York Hall or some leisure centre but this is at Wembley Arena with hugely expensive ticket prices and not your standard £35 or £80 ringside seats.

Admittedly if you brought a cheap ticket and get there early enough you'll get upgraded to better seats so thats a bit of a benefit.

Good names.... but not good fights !

Seems like a shit load of learning fights, 20 Walsh fights and then the one cubic zirconia in the dirt, Clev vs Branc.

Don't mean to be 'down' on it, but i think Williams vs Chisora would have been a really interesting fight to happen, whilst as it stands I dont (unfortunately) give Baker much of a crack against Chisora beyond the 3rd round.

I wouldn't be booking trains, planes and auto mobiles to it.

In conclusion, it's a good job they are all not fighting in Herning :D

Yeah, £75, £100 and £150 for the "ringside" seats.

At the end of the day, if people have that money to spend on boxing at this level, then great. hope they have a good evening.

The sole Champion on the bill is a WBO International Champion.

So, "Night of the WBO International Champion" is a better name for the event.
