Prospects
Who is your faviorite prospect who has fallen under the radar or isnt a big named prospect yet?
Re: Prospects
Steve Barnes the 18 year old super bantam who was recently beaten by Ian Bailey looks like a good prospect. And of course all 3 Walshes and the olympians.

Re: Prospects
Mine would be Craig McEwan, he seems very talented but hasnt got the recognition over here he deserves.
Re: Prospects
The Freddie Roach trained Dean Byrne has finally been granted a visa and will be one to keep an eye out for in 2010. His fellow Dubliner Jamie Kavanagh has also been taken under Roachs wing at the Wildcard and he will be looking for an impressive debut year in the pros.
The Irish based Cuban Alexei Acosta looks like a top prospect and he will be taking on the experienced Felix Machado in Dublin on Saturday so it will be interesting to see how he gets on in that.
Carl Frampton is another obvious prospect. Should be a big year for the Hyland brothers aswell.

Re: Prospects
joe selkirk, only had 3 or 4 fights and had a lot of injury problems but he could go all the way, he doesn't get as much attention as smith and bellew but he's just as talented
Re: Prospects
Barnes you're joking right, I saw him on ITV4 before Christmas and he was garbage.
Tyson Fury, George Groves and Stephen Smith.

Re: Prospects
Kris Hughes is a bit under the radar. Think he may be in line for a shot at the British Super-Bantam title if Booth vacates.

Dean Byrne is a very good boxer, hear alot of good things about Jamie Kavanagh, my cousin been telling me for a few years now, coz he's mates with his Father i just took it with a pinch of salt, but now from hearing and seing him on youtube, teaming up with Roach he must be good.Deno1986 wrote:The Freddie Roach trained Dean Byrne has finally been granted a visa and will be one to keep an eye out for in 2010. Re: Prospects
I have high hopes for my Cruiserweight Tony Conquest, It's early days yet, but he posseses ability and crucially a fantastic work ethic and a willingness to learn.
Time will tell, but I've a good feeling about him.

Machado will be a good step up in class for Acosta and it will be good to see how he gets on. Have you been offered the chance to spar with Acosta?

Re: Prospects
Good shout with Kris Hughes and Davey Savage they both look very good but dont seem to have that good of power (even though Hughes KO'd a boy in the 1st in his last fight) but very good boxing skills and well educated.

Re: Prospects
Davey Savage and Kris Hughes are good shouts, I would add Stephen SR Russel and Kris Carslaw to that list.
Top prospects though are George Groves, James DeGale and Frankie Gavin for me.
World level - Matt Korobov (late twenties though I think) and Guillermo Rigondeaux (who's 29) but both have only recently turned pro.

Tyson Fury by far the most skilled boxer that will end up at world level in the next 2 years
