Froch vs Pascal II?

Post by alexpaterson »

I've just watched Pascal v Diaconu II and I was impressed with Pascal's boxing skill and bravery, I feel he has really improved since the 1st Froch fight.
So I was wondering if this fight was made who would you favour?

Froch said he was planning a rematch with Pascal after the Super Six, granted that's a couple of years away. Pascal has adapted well to 175, it whether he can keep improving. Hopefully he'll match up against Dawson this year.

Really depends how Froch comes through the super six and how Pascal recovers from his shoulder injury. If they fought right now I'd fancy Froch to beat him in similar fashion to the last fight. Might be a little closer and a little less hectic with Pascal trying to box more but ultimatley I think they'd end up toe to toe again and we'd get something similar to the first fight. Would be great to see both fighters keep winning though because it would be a real treat somewhere down the line, first was a belter.

I would favour Pascal. I can see where you are coming from by saying it would be a similiar fight with a similiar result but I feel Pascal is more adaptible now and be able to box Froch, beating him to the punch and getting a decision with some toe to toe moments, as when Pascal gets hit with a big one he tends to come back with a flurry of wild shots. It would be another great, exciting fight but I feel Pascal could outbox him for the most part and get the result now.

I'd favour Pascal. He has improved and Froch has taken big punches since then, which put him on the canvas against Taylor and badly staggered against Dirrell.

pascal is an extremly good boxer, and froch is underestimated.
It would be as good as the last one, and a little bit closer. Pascal may take a split on the second match, which would nicely set up a 3rd settler.

The Super Six will never end. At present rate, with Froch fighting less than once every six months, it will be November/December 2011 before it is over, meaning Froch might have to worry about a clash with the London Olympics (particularly with his trainer) for any other fight.

i think the shot that dirrell "hurt" froch with has been exaggerated a bit.

reckon froch is much better than he looked vs dirrell, and that dirrell#s awful running and spoiling was due to froch's strength, strength which will be more evident v european stylists kessler and abraham, who don't use their legs so much, and who are abit more offensive minded.

but i agree, if he keeps taking those big shots, he might just reach the fight where he can no loner take these shots.

a lot to ask of froch and pascal before they can meet up in the ring again. if froch wins super 6 and if pascal can keep hold of his WBC title, then it could be a potentially big fight. whoever winds up with the most clout wins it. if froch gets him down to 168, froch wins every time. if pascal gets him up to 175, pascal wins itas he carries the extra weight well.

i'm in agreement with the thread starter. pascal was very impressive, vs a tough cookie, a good pressure fighter, in diaconu. pascal and diaconu are a perfect foil to one another, they produce the fireworks. but pascal's intensity & will to win, with a badly injured shoulder, was remarkable.

Could be at this moment in time. I wouldn't even say it would be because he is a spectacular boxer, but would be quite happy to wait for pascal to make a mistake and then nail him. I wouldn;t mind seeing him in with cloud in next year or so though

i cannot see this happening, the 2 have become best of mates since their fight, i saw pascal aside froch at the weigh in for the dirrell fight in nottingham.
