Ronnie Delaney Query

Dan of IBRO e-mailed to me (and all other members of thge IBRO) Delaney's record as they believe to be accurate. But their's did not include the May 24, 1950 Jimmy Welch or the October 9, 1953 Bobby Huges that BoxRec has. Can someone verify these two bouts?

Both those do show up on his record in the 1955 RRB. Did they discover that those bouts were not for Delaney?

I'd hazard a guess that the bout on Sunday 14th May 1950 is a transcription error of the bout on Wednesday 24th May 1950. There are no other bouts listed in Cincinnati on the Sunday, on the Wednesday there is one other. Also in his career Delaney fought only twice on Sunday but 26 times on a Wednesday. But as I said this is only a guess.

I didn't notice the duplicate bout, that makes more sense now that you mention it John.

I e-mailed Dan of the IBRO what has been posted above. He re-checked his work and realized that he mis-typed the May 14th date. He then also confirmed the October 3, 1953 Hughes fight.

(Matt? You're not an IBRO member? If there is anyone that should be, I would think you would be one. Did you get my e-mail regarding MOHAI?)
