Dawson, US Debut Feb 12

A year since he last fought, and a cancelled debut in the US last year, finally Daniel Dawson looks set to make his US debut .

The card he will be fighting on looks set to launch a few international opponents to the US.

Feb 12 Pechanga Resort & Casino, Temecula, California, United States, but no opponent named, so i won't be expecting anything decent.

Still I'm quite happy to see him in the ring again.

If all boxers had a near perfect win loss ratio, then mathematicaly speaking, near all boxers must be lying. Lets take some one as an example, I'm very familiar with Eddie Delic and he suits this debate. Going into his state title fight with Nick Lundh, he had 4 wins for 9 fights. On paper a total bum, and according to people like you, shouldn't be allowed in the ring.

He had 2 losses to Solomon Egbarime, I helped him train for both fights, his first fight with Solomon he won, and I have some idea how to judge, 4-2 then take into account solomon had a point deducted. Solomon was signed to the promoter and got the split decision, second fight Solomon won hands down, 8-4, and thats being kind to Eddie. By the way, Solomon was a two time olympian with over 300 am. fights.

His next non win was against Lincoln Stewert, a top line amature boxer with approx. 200 am. fights and by this stage a genuine international pro. Eddie fought Lincoln on a show co-promoted by Lincolns trainer. The fight was a cracker, with Eddie bleeding profusedly for the lest three rounds and Lincoln Staggered at least 3-4 times in the last couple of rounds. On the night I thought a draw was an o.k decision but I have since sat down 4 times with a pen and paper, each time sober and armed with more judging knowlage than the last, to hone my judging skills, and each time come up with Eddie at 5-3.

Then there are 2 hotly disputed, close losses (one in Sydney) to Tim Minnis (2 weight divisions higher) and Chris Hamilton (promoter's boy, Sydney, say no more).

I'm not trying to sing the praises of Eddie Delic or call fowl, sometimes the win-loss statistics don't paint an accurate picture. I'm trying to say have look at each fight and judge it on its merrits. And have some respect for fighters other than your heroes before making such disparaging remarks.

For every winner there has to be a loser. Sometimes the real loser is the judgemental know-it-all couch potatoe 'fan'.

I agree DBerry, There are plenty of guys with losing records who are far from ordinary fighters. Some guys arnt protected like a lot o fighters today. This Kenyan fella has faced some tough guys in his career.

Each time loosing, he hasn't won against any of those big opponents. Which is why it will be a good indication as to where Dawson is now.


But will agree on records being misleading and Eddie Delic 15-9 is certainly misleading he gives a good account of himself everytime he steps through the ropes.

My best example that i can think of is Emanual Augustus, 38-31.

Unbelievable news of my debut fight!
My fight debut has been delayed again! Due to the snow storms on the east coast of america at the moment (New Jersey) where my fighter was travelling from was not able to get a flight out and we were waiting in hope that he would be able get a flight in time and unfortunately the storms were that bad that all flights were shut down on the east coast all week! I really cant beleive it and i am very disapointed as i did all the work and went to the weigh in and weighd in at the correct weight and was given the news there and then of what had happened! I have been assured that i will have a fight within the next month so i will stay in the gym prepared and ready and as hungry as ever to get my first fight here happening! Thankyou so much for all the support from everyone and i am sorry the for the news. All i can say is it is only a delay of the ineviatable!
