Big Clarence Tillman coming to a venue near you.

Post by el_grande_mauro_mina »

N2 Shape has told us about one of his new signings - Big Clarence Tillman - at 6ft 5ins and 130kgs (thats 20 and a half stone in old money) that is one big unit. Though he has a 2-4-1 record he has fought some tough guys over there in America and I expect to see Tillmans win column shoot up dramatically in the near future. It looks like he might be basing himself in New Zealand on a permemant basis which is good to see. :TU:

He is also pencilled in for a fight with big John Szgeti - Seeing how Szgeti was manhandled into defeat by ALex Leapai - I am thinking a big strong heavyweight like Tillman can do the same. Anyway, good luck to all our yank bretheren lacing them up down under!

Tillman lost a 4 rounder to a debutant in his last fight. He does not sound like anything to get excited about.

adding more numbers to the HW mix in Australasia is a good thing. Good luck to him, only time will tell.

Clarence contacted me by PM. As I told him I have no problem with him, it is just Carlos Wigan's assumption that no Australian heavyweight can beat anybody from east of the International Dateline. It is not our fault that Carlos lives in the coldest dump in the North of England.

You thick Australian git! Where have I ever said your heavyweights are shite? I have never ever said that and in fact - on numerous occasions that your heavyweight division is the healthiest for the past 60 years. And am I not the poster that comes to the defence
of one of your own - Anthony Mundine? Clarence Tillman has decided to come down under and I think he will do well - an olympic
trialist with a good amateur pedigree who was matched tough in his career early on - I do think he will beat John Szgeti though!

Clarence - a bit of advice - you need a thick skin if you are coming down here because these Aussies and Kiwis are caustic, piss taking bastards! The only time you need to PM Brute is to tell him to kiss your ass! :TU:

houndawg, dberry i have never once proclaimed that Welliver would be the next heavyweight superstar, simply stated that hed beat guys like Kirby, Hoppa, Wilson etc yes i jump to his defence but i dont ever recall hyping him up to be anything he isnt!

I have kept quite on Tillman simply saying let him start getting to work down here before we pass judgement...........some are quick to critisise but these same people are the ones who sit on there sofas watch boxing saying how much better they could be doing if they were fighting, promoting, managing, reffing, judging the works but never step up to the plate! Fans have opinions which is great but as fans we should also be excited and interested when new players enter the fray in this region which isnt exactly deep with talent.

Tillman fights 5 times in two months Im very excited about being involved with his development and look forward to watching him over the next few months!

Most of us that are talking aren't armchair warriors, and have thrown a few in our time, weather with gloves on or bare knuckle, on a personal note i'm beginning training this week, if i lose every fight and people on here bag me you won't hear me come here telling people that there opinion is wrong because it's probably right.

Every man that steps through into the ring is a warrior for doing so, but as you've gathered this is good place for people to be heard, and believe me some of the people that visit this site and read, not post, is impressive. So if a someone looks like they're going to do themselves and the sport harm it's ok for people weather they've boxed or not to voice their opinion. Just because your involved, doesn't mean it's the gospel. Some of the people that post here are quite intelligent and have a better understanding of the sport and what fans want than those that are involved.

Antons can we set up a forum for people who refute peoples opinions unless they've actually boxed.
We can name it "you don't know shitt until you've been hit in the head a 1000 times".

Dberry weren't you a amateur boxer and cornerman and been involved in the sport quite a bit?

Are you based in Australia yet N2 Shape? When you talk about bringing blokes to this part of the world do you now mean Australia or still New Zealand?

I fought Clarence 2 times in the amatuer ranks my name is Justin Jones...The opinion over here is if he ever gets into tip top shape no one can beat him...But he continues to get in his own way by not training as he should all the time...He has a great jab and the man can straight up punch with any heavyweight in the world I think he made a bad decision not staying in Texas and moving to Las Vegas...I hope the change of scenery in NZ is a good change for him he is a really good person...If he gets things going conditioning wise trust me he will be a force in this division. :box:
