this guy thinks he's ready for brook? is he crazy... every round that sky showed of his fight tonight he got outboxed and hit with big shots. he won 78-76..maybe i missed something? cox looked like a punch bag in most rounds. terrible defence. alot of work to be done.

Re: Jamie Cox
fierst time ive seen him , if i was him id not go anywhere near brook .
Re: Jamie Cox
LMAO I noticed his gay socks too. He's bonkers that kid, just got a look in his eye that he's well off the rails, I see fun fights in the future, maybe get to a decent level but unless he sorts his head out he'll end up getting KO'd off someone like Brook in quick time.G0mez wrote:Nice socks Jamie.

it's not often that i comment on fighter's hairstyles- but is that not a 'wedge' he is sporting!
i remember asking the barber for one of them when i was 11
PS he should not go anywhere near Kell

The board have put Cox and Mark Thompson forward for an eliminator before the end of May, be an interesting fight if it happens

after the beating cox took last night i expect thompson to win this fightlacollier883 wrote:The board have put Cox and Mark Thompson forward for an eliminator before the end of May, be an interesting fight if it happens
Re: Jamie Cox
I think Cox becomes too absorbed in talking to his fans when he should be concentrating on his fights, not the first time he's done that either. I liked Frontin though, he really came to fight.MrBoxingUK2 wrote:after the beating cox took last night i expect thompson to win this fightlacollier883 wrote:The board have put Cox and Mark Thompson forward for an eliminator before the end of May, be an interesting fight if it happens
Re: Jamie Cox
Yeah Frontin was very good and made Cox look ordinary at times. Cox looks like he has some raw talent but he has a lot of work to do and nowhere near ready for a fight against Brook.
Re: Jamie Cox
Cox has all the tools, but his lack of patience and determination to make a statement with a KO, leaves him looking wild and ragged. Plus he is taking too many shots.
Compared to Frankie Gavin, who was using the ring well, moving and slipping - they were like night and day.
When Cox comes across and hardman who can punch and also take a shot, it wont come down to boxing ability, it will be Katsidis vs Earl all over again.
I like him though. I always watch intensely...mesmerised by his white socks

I cant stand Cox and I dont rate him that highly as a boxer. I feel O'Donnell, Brook and even Hatton beat him handily he is too open.

Would be nice to see more of these done on a range of pro gyms...
Re: Jamie Cox
I watched Cox last night and wasn't overly impressed... He wouldn't do well vs Book that's for sure.
Re: Jamie Cox
Cox is better than what he showed. A fight against Thompson sounds like a good one and I certainly wouldn't want to pick a winner, Cox, Thompson and O'Donnell are all on a similar level for me with Brook being ahead of those guys.

Re: Jamie Cox
Cox needs to start straightening his punches and work behind a jab. He is far too open with his current style. Throwing constant hooks like he does, is just asking for a straight right in the mush, his defence doesn`t exist.
He is obviously a tough nut and will give us some entertainment in the future, but he needs to tighten up or he will not have much of a future at a higher level.

Re: Jamie Cox
Cox appears to be going into his fights too steamed up.
Jamie was fast becoming a formidable amatuer until he turned pro. Now he seems hell bent on over-powering everyone who steps into the ring with him and he can only get away with this for so long. Anyone who stands and trades with him will probably lose, but clearly the words out that Cox always comes looking for the KO and opponents are now ready for it. I don't think he'll lose though, not until he steps up to contender status...Cox is too much of handful for lesser opponents.
Not having a pop at Warren, but i really believe his should have gone a bit more local and hooked up with the Sanigars. Cox would have been treated like the star he is, but they would sort out his approach.

I think he fell out with the Sanigars a few years ago.He did a co-promotion with Keith Mayo involving Cox,thoughTHEBUTCH wrote:Cox appears to be going into his fights too steamed up.

Cox's last performance reminded me of John Duddy.

yeah hopefully it's a case of needing to go to the next level and getting stale.Noelsy wrote:Dont you think its the case of cox sick of boxing guys he knows he going to beat he was a top amatuer won a cw games gold in 2006 in melbourne

u do worry about his defence on that showing though.
didn't look good in the fight before that either from memory.
is brooks vs jennings being re-scheduled?
