same here , i never really hated him in the way some did , he just annoyed me with all the
" this time next year ill be world champion" mullarky.
i do hope he wins the euro , just to give him some sort of respect from his career , as the olympics aside hes acheived feck all .

Bernard Hopkins was one. I thought he spoiled a lot and didnt like watching him then I started getting really in to him (in boxing terms D ) his fight with Trinadad was brilliant, I then watched a lot more and really appriecated what he was doing he is a superb taction and so very clever in the ring.

How do you mean "fight the best?"

I think Khan wants the big name fighters, after his next fight I fully expect a unification and some good exciting fights down the line.

I realise that fighting big names does not always equal fighting the best, but he won't be fighting handpicked lower level fighter from now onwards.

I know about the Maidaina fight but as a 1st fight in the US a Malinaganagggggiii fight makes more sense, imo.

Is your reason for admiring Khan now based on the fact he left his promoter for money or do you genuinely believe America can give him bigger fights?

Fwank only got the fights because KHAN was leaving him.

He left his Promoter because he was free to.

I think Khan has always wanted to fight the best, he might come unstuck, but he has always wanted the big fights.

AND LETS GET IT STRAIGHT - BOXING IS A BUSINESS ALSO - KHAN TOOK HIS ELSEWHERE.

In business If you can get the same job done but make more money then...change supplier.

But now he has made his own headlines he has began to drop the tedious Calzaghe thing ..
And the times he has been on the TV at boxing shows .. he has shown what a great character he can be. Also, for me, he is the best value British boxer/fighter out there
Haye, Khan, Mitchell have none of the heart Froch brings to the ring each and everytime he steps through those ropes

funny that mitchell seems to be a lad that everyone disliked, met him a few times (it just happened that he was an up and coming prospect when i was writing so) and to be honest the bloke has time for the fans. Didnt mind a chat and always behanved respectfully.

Vinnie had a reputation of being a loose canoon but hey havent we all been at some point in our lives, Kev always accross as a real solid nice bloke to be honest.

Be real nice to see him lift a title this year.

It's rare i dislike the person, it's more their career or stuff that gets my knickers in a twist. If a fighter is genuine, not manufactured - then that's all i would wish for.

It's the talented fighters who never do go for it, that really come in for nuclear attacks. Because it's basically assuming we are all thick or stupid enough to swallow their diatribe and believe their greatness without fighting the best.

I have always quite liked Mitchell, but even more so recently. Turning into one of my favourites.

Khan I've wanted to see flattened, and was jumping for joy when Prescott floored him, then wanted to see him flattened even more when he got a world title shot after beating a bum and an old, one eyed featherweight. Having said this, I won't say I am pro Khan yet, but i do think he has improved ten fold with Freddie Roach and give him respect. Do i still wanna see him flattened? I wanna see him in a big fight with a big puncher, win or lose.

I never liked Hagler when he was fighting, he was always so surly. I remember Duran scoffing at him at their post-fight press conference with words to the effect of, "he wins the fight and he makes excuses." Marvin seemed bitter and his fall was always going embitter him more than (ever) others. It did, although he seems highly likeable today.
