These are 5th-Grade distinctions you're failing. It's frankly embarrassing. You'll accuse me of this or that --- great, I'll accuse you of not knowing what you're talking about.

Difference is, you don't know a thing about me, & are just reaching at whatever insults you can to try & injure me --- whereas I am going off what you've actually said --- words which expose you of having little real knowledge of the division's history. No one would say the things you said of Duran if they had any real depth to their 135lb. knowledge.

"...Leonard & Armstrong were both great fighters, but neither had the power to stage off Manos de Piedra at 135lbs..."

Give me a break. Everyone can see this is a generic comment put up by someone who can't go into any detail, because they don't know what they're talking about. All they've really seen is how great Duran was, & are going to go with that. Never mind Benny Leonard. Never mind Henry Armstrong. Never mind Ike Williams, Barney Ross, or Carlos Ortiz. I've seen Roberto Duran

See how that works? My post is substance, based on proven statements --- yours is randomised insults & baseless presumptions. You belong in Current Scene, with the rest of the Boxing-was-born-when-I-was-born crowd. Go back --- this isn't a place for someone with a text-message for a name.
Dang Irene........you still giving me love!??! "Goodnight, Irene", wasn't that a title of a Meg Ryan movie or something?? :TU: I'm sure you are aware that styles make fights.....Stylistically, Duran is his prime @ 135 would have given any LW problems. On any given night in boxing, any fighter can be beaten, that's why they call it an "upset", when the favorite fighter is defeated. No one thought Tyson would have been manhandled by Buster Douglas, who thought Max Baer would have fallen to Jimmy Braddock?? So, we are entitled to our opinions, right?? Since you are the "professor" in this forum, you seem to pay more attention in my grammar and pronunciation then in your own blindness of who started the insults........ I tell you what, if you are ever in the Virginia, New York, or Las Vegas area, let me know so we can have this discussion in person.....and so I can get to "know you". Other than that, you really should have no more words for me.
I have no more words for you. I called you on the ludicrous claim that nobody could hang with Duran at 135, & you relented, stating...

"...Duran in his prime at 135 would have given any LW problems..."

Well-said.

enough with these pactardo meat gazers!!! in their views pacquiao can NEVER be beaten by anybody in history. it's ludicrous to argue with these girls because they all gang up together like these keystone meatgazers and accuse one of racism, hatred, etc...so for all you pactardo dingleberry meatgazers, pacquiao IS THEGREATEST FIGHTER WHO EVER LIVED? nobody can come close to him as he would destroy every welterweight in the history of boxing. SSR, SSL, thomas hearns, oscar, mosley, mayweather jr., duran etc...would all fall under the immense power of the one and only pacquiao. pacquiao is superman and master of the universe!!!!!!!!!

ARE YOU PACTARDO MEATGAZERS HAPPY NOW THAT I AGREE WITH YOU?

Take nothing away from the Pacman.........He will go down as one of the greats. With this fight a feel Pacquiao's style is made fro Duran. Pacquiao is more of a brawler than a boxer, he use his speed to overwhelm fighters, and way too often STILL leave himself vulnerable and off balance after his attacks, his defense isn't the greatest, he gets caught with alot of clean head shots, hard see him walk through punches from the "hands of stone" . He will try to mix it up and exchange with Duran......which is a horrible game plan. Pacquiao does not fight going backwards, and at 5'6, I can't see him boxing Duran for 15 rounds. Pacquiao does not have the reach and one punch power of a Hearns, doesn't have the boxing skill of a Hagler or ring generalship of a Leonard.....So I see Pacquiao winning the early rounds until Duran gets inside and break Pac down. Duran had an under-rated defense, he was a good counter puncher, and M.O. was to punish the body. In 1977 I feel the training regime and how fighters prepare for fights is much different than how things are done today. So.......in the pre-GNC era, @ 135 Duran stops Pacquiao in 13th round. :box:

Well I can't speak for all the PACTARDO MEATGAZERS but I'm certainly very happy now that you have joined our flock. It's good to have such an eloquent gentleman as yourself on board to spread the message.

^^^

That should join the phrase, "Titosite" & the more recent addition of, "Kendall Holt's laser-guided right hand," in the annals of Message Board quote history

"Pactardo Meatgazers." I love it. As a dedicated Marquez fan, I can't wait for my first excuse to roll that one out :TU:
