Hennesy to announce brit tv deal for Froch-Kessler.

Post by rapid2 »

At todays pressconference in Herning, Denmark, Carl Froch's promotor Mick Hennesy said that he tomorrow will announce a good british television agreement for the upcoming supersix fight between Mikkel Kessler and WBC champion Carl Froch, lionheart-boxing.dk writes.

""It's not easy with british television, but we have reached an agreement we are very happy with", Hennesy says and adds: "We can feel that Carl is about to be a household name and he deserves it. Carl is the best of the 3 british world champions today."

Hennesy gives Haye credit but doesn't understand Amir Khan. He goes on to add that: "Carl is the best of the three of them. He's the most complete fighter, he's got the brains, physics, toughness, will and (silky-smooth......) skills. He has it all."

Please not Primetime.

Realistically though, it's them or sky. If it is sky, surely Hennessy will want it on PPV to maximise the profit to him. But with the fight just two week after Haye v Ruiz, sky won't want it on Box Office so it's a tricky one.

If it is Primetime then surely Hennessy won't be a top level British boxing promoter for much longer.

Why would any of his top fighters want to stay with him?

Is the name of the Primetime station a clever bit of irony? Or, like Girls Aloud's 'Sound of the Underground', just unintentionally hilarious?

'I can't believe its not on real TV' would be more appropriate

BIGMARK wrote:after the last drama with Primetime i'm not sure i will bother and i wonder what the odds are you still have to be connected to a phone line to book it?

I am a bit of a Froch fan (still think Dirrell beat him) and this is a PR diaster.
I missed the entire undercard on that one. But lets remember it was all put together in a bit of a rush as Mick was still trying to get a TV deal up to the last few days.

The second time it came on within 5 minuites of me paying. Kessler Ward worked very well on primetime. They sorted their problems out from the Froch Dirrel fight. Best thing to do is book it a few days early :TU:

BTW is this even confimed or are we all just responding to someones guess?

Eddie chambers vs Klitschko too on primetime.

The payment issue/activation system has been done away with. You can pay through screen and activation is instant. Without telephone line needing to be connected.

Primetime news site on its way and heap of other fights too.

No virgin yet, but otherwise some big strides being made behind the scenes and all will come out in the wash.
