Congratulations Mick Hennessy!!!!!!!!
Now is the time to take your hats off to Mick Hennessy. Mick had the foresight to sign Junior Witter to his talented stable and look how it's paid off. With world class boxers like Witter, Howard Eastman and Carl Froch on its books, Hennessy sports looks like it's going places. Lets hope one of the major TV networks recognises this and gives Mick a deal that he thouroughly deserves.

Witter never fights in England again. Way to go, Hennessy. The quiet man 2004 wrote:Now is the time to take your hats off to Mick Hennessy. I don't see where Witter can go in the United States. He hardly makes great TV even if he has loads of talent.
What I can't work out is why Hennessy has given half of his fighter to another promoter who isn't guaranteeing anything.
Does he honestly think, Gatti v Witter will have HBO rushing to sign their cheque book in hope of making the fight?

Why not? Witter is the mandatory now. HBO will sign anyone to fight Gatti he's box office on his own!chris s wrote:I don't see where Witter can go in the United States. He hardly makes great TV even if he has loads of talent.

HBO wont put Gatti in risk fights unless it is against an American who has some worth to them. Witter isn't box office, doesn't make good television, what he means in America you can write on the back of a stamp and worst still is too dangerous for Gatti. They wont want to lose one of their golden boys to a fighter who does nothing for viewing figures.007 wrote:Why not? Witter is the mandatory now. From a paying punters point of view, Hennesseys shows are the best competitively matched shows in the UK by some way.
He looks to take his fighters the traditional routes fighting for genuine titles no IBO, WBU b*llocks. Seen a fair few of his young lads beat along the way but he sticks with them, defeat not being the end of the world but part of a learning curve.
Now he is starting to deliver on the international stage. Credit where it's due, need more promoters like him and I hope he gets a TV deal.

Mayweather could well end up in prison - under the three strikes rule in the states any non celeb would be banged up so he should. Lets see if his money can get him out of this one....Riddick Blowe wrote:What the hell happened to mayweather at WBC #1? I hardly think witter will get his shot before floyd?007 wrote:Why not? Witter vs N'dou was the best fight on the night.. if Witter's style isnt for television then why the hell are HBO showing Hopkins fights? he isnt exactly pleasing to the eye. Witter has changed and is now more attacking, im looking forward to seeing his next fight.
Hennessy is without a doubt the best UK promoter.. Sky can lick Warrens arse all they want but that doesn't make him the best. The WBU is a nothing title, its garbage!

I would rather see our fighters going abroad and facing the best for REAL world titles rather than them staying here and defending wbu/wbf/etcBULLS@IT titles against hand picked opposition!. Most real boxing fans are fed up of these phoney titles!. Also Henessy seems to be genuniely trying to get the best deal for his fighters.... good luck mate!.
