Waters family

Just watching a crime documentary about the Waters family. Interesting stuff, I'd never heard of them before with living in England.

Yeah, its an interesting story there upbringing. Troy was a really good fighter. If he was boxing today id have no doubt he would hold an World Title belt of some sort.

The Waters boy's dad is from Haydock Merseyside - I think the boys were born in London and moved down under when they were young. I remember watching Dean Waters getting outmuscled and stopped by Horace Notice for the Commonwealth heavyweight title live on the BBC and a couple of years later Guy going twelve tough rounds against Dennis Andries - I think it was in Townsville but I am not sure.

Dean was saying he took his last beating from his Dad at the age of 25 when he was The heavyweight champion of Australia. That is some hold he had over them boys!

This is how I'm modeling my upbringing of my son, Des. He's going to be the next champion of the world god damn it, if he likes it or not. Now where did I put my tazer and beating stick?

The jury in Dean's trial believed Cec had a hold on him. Very rare to admit to killing somebody and be acquitted.

I think Dean is a bit slow mentally. Why else would he have put up with that?

This old news story gives an indication what an evil bugger the old man was:

I can remember when the Waters family first came to public attention. All the press creeps were heaping praise on Cec and I just kept thinking "There is something wrong here." The old bastard was just living through his kids. As a parent of adults I can tell you that you can't do that. It is a false life.
