Well Done Danny McIntosh..
Make Bellew v Mcintosh!
Re: Make Bellew v Mcintosh!
I disliked his comments about scousers and tracksuits BUT putting that to one side, I have respect for him! I am a little gutted about his comments about fighting me BUT what can I do??! He's come across as a classy lad and he did a fantastic job on Oakey last night, Gotta respect that, Oakey was offered to fight me 3 weeks ago and said he wanted to fight McIntosh instead?? The move to Graham Everett is the best thing he could have ever done IMO.. Graham is a good trainer and get's respect off his lads!!
Well Done Danny McIntosh..

Re: Make Bellew v Mcintosh!
would you like a worthers first
you should steal the book
DD im gonna buy it as ive read quite alot of stories & they are all amazing, from taking methods of australian aborigines where they simply chew the arse out of meat taking the juices then spit it out
he boxed up at heavy alot but used mad methods to get down to 175lbs heavy's were like 200-195 back then so cruiser's really.
named the ole mongoose as he was old & wily & would disguise his punch & box contently often outboxing them & lulling them into a false sense of security before he'd lower the boom striking out like a mongoose to it's prey, still holds the ko record & when you see how long he was rated @ the top turning over decent fighter after decent fighter he'll never be matched
.
i see you taking on more cruiser's to get fights i believe you'd still be advantious as you are at l.heavy especially with abit of gravy inside ya

Re: Make Bellew v Mcintosh!
personally i don't see the point in tony fighting mcintosh, tony smashes him inside 3 rounds easily I think
Re: Make Bellew v Mcintosh!
I think McIntosh is one of those I can have the the "fighter I used to hate but now like" - loved his honest post fight interview after Clev, and now since. He knows his limitations and knows he is learning - very honest.
Re: Make Bellew v Mcintosh!
I was at the weighin for Clev Mcintosh and Danny was doing all sorts of crap (throat slit gesture and the like) I was also at the fight and will be honest enjoyed the lesson Clev gave him, I have not seen the after fight interview however (is there a link anywhere?)
Re: Make Bellew v Mcintosh!
He was incredibly classy in the post-fight interview - humble, humorous (was happy to take the piss out of himself) and full of praise for Cleverley. Remember thinking at the time it was one of the best post-fight interviews I'd ever seen. No link though I'm afraid!taffytoon wrote:I was at the weighin for Clev Mcintosh and Danny was doing all sorts of crap (throat slit gesture and the like) I was also at the fight and will be honest enjoyed the lesson Clev gave him, I have not seen the after fight interview however (is there a link anywhere?)

It would be a good domestic scrap, and a good step up for Bellew. I would favour him to win in the middle rounds.

100% agreed, he did come across as a tosser until that interview and the one last night. I actually quite like him nowDeserter wrote:He was incredibly classy in the post-fight interview - humble, humorous (was happy to take the piss out of himself) and full of praise for Cleverley. A story told by the late great Willie Pastrano told about Archie Moore when he boxed him in the 1960s - Archie Moore was like 50 years old at the time and he boxed Willie Pastrano to a 10 round draw in Florida.hurlock wrote:would you like a worthers first![]()

So during the fight, Archie Moore was talking to Willie saying 'Oooh Willie, you are boxing so pretty, you are the next champ, dance Willie dance' as Pastrano was evading Moore and popping out jabs.
Pastrano goes back to the corner and tells Angelo Dundee 'I love Archie Moore - he is saying lots of pretty things to me'
Angelo Dundee barked to Pastrano 'Willie - don't listen to him!'
So the rounds continuted with Archie talking and Willie dancing - Archie was still saying all these nice things until he told Pastrano to 'stand still'
Willie stood still and Archie Moore cracked him with his famous KO punch, which nearly knocked Willie Pastrano into the middle of next week.
Archie Moore was the master of psychology - he said he got his eating habits from an old aborigine man when he lived and boxed in Australia
in the 1930s.
Re: Make Bellew v Mcintosh!
Basically started by "crying" and saying he was devasted and couldn't think about his future and all.... only for him to raise a smile and say he was joking and Clev did him good!.taffytoon wrote:I was at the weighin for Clev Mcintosh and Danny was doing all sorts of crap (throat slit gesture and the like) I was also at the fight and will be honest enjoyed the lesson Clev gave him, I have not seen the after fight interview however (is there a link anywhere?)
He was actually a pretty good actor also.
Although that back flip he did in the fight was silly - wasted so much energy.
Re: Make Bellew v Mcintosh!
archie moore also started as a young welter & was meant to be unreal @ l.middle his punch was ridiculous down there but he was frozen out.
just to think bomber will have an A.moore on his record

Watched Big Mac very close to be honest and I had an outside £10 bet on him beating Cleverley . Was glad to see him winning again to be honest I like cocky fighters and he is one of them .
I was also glad to see his honesty when asked in the interview about a rematch with Cleverley he knows its beyond him .

apparently he came across really well. again
saying something along the lines of not chasing a Cleverley rematch because Clev's better and needing a suit of armour to fight bellew

Re: Make Bellow v Mcintosh!
I've known Danny a few years and he's a nice guy to be around, different then what he has shown on screen, boxing requires a certain amount of bravado and with what some of these boxers achieve they deserve to have a little bit of an inflated head, you have to believe in yourself or you get nowhere.Tommy Gunn13 wrote:i know what your saying, yes i do slate him..just going with what i hear about him thinking hes the big i am around Norwich&he was like that in his AM days....theres a couple of Sam Sextons mates who post on here&probely know him(perhaps he is a nice guy)but i dislike him....none the less great win for him....Counter-puncher wrote:you've never missed an opportunity to slag the guy off but to be fair everything i have ever heard him say has been decent and respectfulTommy Gunn13 wrote:As much as i dislike Mcintosh,it was a bloody good win for him last night....

Also I really think working again with Sexton, Graham Everett and Neil Fetherby has started to not only change Dannys boxing for the better but his attitude too. Some good stuff to come from him. Great to have him back in Norwich and what a great win against Oakey, great bounce back fight after the cleverly loss, seems that Norwich boys can take a loss to bring them back stronger, look how Sexton catapulted forward after his only loss.
I would like to see a big Norwich show with a few belts on the line, with Sexton for crack at the British and a commonwealth defence too, McIntosh for International belt, the Walsh brothers for southern and if Herbie Hide is up to it, get him on too, there must be a belt he could be eligible for, would be good to see Earl Ling get in there as well!!
