Agreed that's the great thing about boxing - sure we can speculate all we like but until two fighters actually meet in the ring we'll never know for sure what the outcome would be. I learnt a long time not to make bold, brash predictions about one fighter dominating another when both have proven themselves at the highest level. A good recent example would be Mosley-Margarito.
definitely. and even if they did fight, it could have been a case of "froch was too young", or "calzaghe was too old," etc etc

It's true that there will always be if's, but's and maybe's. With that said, MY opinon is that Calzaghe would stand Froch on his head. These are great debates and it's always good to hear every side of every topic. I am really looking forward to the Kessler fight as I do think he will have too much for Froch (but I agree we will have to wait and see). I will also admit that i have changed my mind on Arthur Abrahams (I was never really sold on him, but to be fair he now looks the clear favorite for the tounament.

You can't argue with anyone picking Abraham as the favourite. The guy is a beast.

When i first saw him lined up with the others i didn't think he had the size to compete. But he's like a cannonball being fired when he lets them shots go. He's got some serious artillery.

But he just seems to take a lifetime to let them go. I think against Dirrell this could cost him his title.
Froch didn`t have the skills to beat Dirrel - but compensated with his enormous heart. Arthur may just be stalking & waiting to long, and let Dirrel rack up the rnds as he almost did with Froch.

Whatever anybody says about Froch, he does have a semblance of personality and wit unlike JC.

"One minute he gives me credit for my career, then three months later comes out with this. He's obviously just after a bit of publicity after his impression of rigor mortis on Strictly Embarrassing."

Had Froch won a title or beaten a Taylor 12 months before, Calzaghe would almost certainly have fought him. But by the time Calzaghe had his last fight against Jones, the biggest win on Froch's record was over Brian Magee.

Spot on.
