Yes , indeed.
A good proportion of ticket sales, I'm sure is from family and friends and local fans of the boxer.
HOWEVER- why line him up against a journeyman opponent, whom he is almost certain to beat.
Surely ticket sales would not be any worse (I'd guess they would be better) if he was lined up against someone at the same level of ability as he was- and even better- a local or regional rival.
Boxing Show- Panzer Pete from Preston V Basher Bill from Blackpool - now that seems to me a much more interesting event than
Prospect Pete from Preson V Journeyman Jim from Birmingham.
HOWEVER, I do acknowledge that there might be "crowd issues" here, and that such match ups are not always easy to make.
But surely having TWO fighters boxing each other who both sell tickets is a better way to do it, than having a ticket seller V journeyman??
