Yep, he was a karate black belt and also violent with his elbows - ask Gary Mabbutt!stujones wrote: I think "fash the bash" as he was known would combine athleticism with size nicely.
I remember the story of him ko'ing Terry Gibson behind the locker rooms after a spat in training. The whole team watched, real playground stuff! He said afterwards, "Terry was a very silly boy taking me on".
Harford was hard, and didnt Robbie Keane lay out Edgar Davids in the car park at White Hart Lane?

Andriy Shevchenko was an amateur boxer in his youth. And there's no shortage of good 'uns from former Soviet block countries.

It gets said a lot but I reckon Rooney would be very good, natural athlete with tons of power and great co ordination. Only thing against him would be his weight, all his opponents would have reach and height on him.

Years ago before while Terry was still up and coming and not an England regular him and Jody Morris were caught scrapping on camera outside a night club. Him and Morris looked clueless, wild swings all over the place but they had a mate with them who was a boxer and watching the cctv footage was comedy seeing the difference between the little boxer bobbing and weaving throwing quality digs while all the others looked like every day drunk yobs.

Billy Whitehurst could Fight,I remember a time Having it with a Worldchamp in a pub at Bramall Lane. It got split up, but He wasnt coming second.

I think it was actually Terry and Morris fighting AGAINST a doorman who was the older brother of pro fighter Matthew Thirlwell. Not entirely clear as to whether Matthew was actually there or not. Old reports on a bit of it here:Pat Butcher wrote:Years ago before while Terry was still up and coming and not an England regular him and Jody Morris were caught scrapping on camera outside a night club. Terry does just come across as a cretin - surprising that he got away with this.

Someone said earlier Wes Brown is a well known hardman - was that a joke?
Souness - nutbag on the picth. Wouldve been great to see the scot battle with the likes of Keane and Jones in the same era.

He could do something silly at anypoint in the fight and lose it for his team though
